I apologize for asking this, but I've spent a half hour already trying to find a rebuild kit online with no luck. Does anyone have a part number or a link for one? Thank you in advance.

I was not aware that starter rebuild kits were even a possibility for any consumer vehicle since the mid-90s--try a local auto-electric place they may have the parts you need and be willing to sell them.

Rockauto has rebuilt starters from $73 to $100...

I see nothing on ebay for a 4.0 starter rebuild kit

I highly doubt you have an armature lathe. If you did, you would know where to buy starter rebuild parts. Not trying to be mean, just stating the fact. I own an armature lathe, and it's not worth my time to rebuild starters.

Sorry, I am actually looking for a solenoid repair kit. I edited the thread title. And I agree; a full rebuild is pretty much a waste of time.

I was thinking about rebuilding one I have had laying around for months. Found a couple repair kits on ebay, but mine is a first gen. maybe the sellers would have something for the 4.0? I have had good luck with a lot of the ebay stores. Theyre pretty hungry for that positive feedback.

P.S. Isn't that the motor that has the starter buried under the intake manifold? Sounds Fun o_O
