I've recently purchased a Canadian 2009 Tacoma SR5 'B'. Apparently, there was an early run of SR5's that were equipped with the backup camera of the TRD. Mine is one of those. The camera is in position, and the wiring harness goes to the tailgate, but the mirror is a regular mirror. It isn't the 'electro-chromatic mirror with screen' of the TRD model.

    My question is:
Is the wiring in place to activate this system by simply replacing the mirror and plugging it in? Has anyone else encountered this?

    Thanks in advance.

Whats an SR5 B? I have an early build 09 SR5 with the camera and the screen in the mirror.

It says on the waybill "Tacoma SR5 Suffix 'B'". The camera is in place in the tailgate handle, and there is a wiring loom running to the tailgate... No screen in the mirror, no wiring to the mirror, just a standard mirror.
That's all I know about it...
I'm wondering if anyone else has encountered this, and is the wiring in place to replace the mirror with the appropriate one and have the camera active....
