my Toy has 3200 miles I took it back at 100 miles because the breaks feel soft, the dealer checked it out and said it was normal. Not like any brakes I have had before. Anyone else with this problem

^^ Yep they all have a soft "spongy" feel. I think I read you can change the brake lines to a metal braided something or other. I am sure someone else will know what it is.

This is why I'm going with the Big Brake kit off the bat. I didn't care for the feel of the brakes in the test drive.

Only problem I've noticed so far is the Drivers seat 'slide rails' is stubborn as hell.
Anyone else have this? I think my drivers seat is just a lemon because the passenger slide rails work perfectly.

The driver's seat in my 08 and now my 09 are both very sticky, pretty annoying...

I have the transmission lag as well. Only at slow speeds, usually when I slow to go around a corner and then hit the gas mid-corner. The tranny just hangs up and the engine revs like the truck is in neutral, then it shifts gears.

I also have what can only be described as a "squish" noise when the brake pedal is pressed. It happens during the first 1/2" in of travel. The brakes feel solid though.

    1. Driveline vibrations here. Back down to the dealer today. I hope they finally put a driveshaft in it.

    2. Shitty Radio, one on order at the dealer

FYI, The transmition isn't 'lagging', it is just dropping into 1st gear instead of locking up in second.

Just got a call from the dealer. Radio is on order. Take a few weeks. I'll keep hitting it.

About the shaking when I brake, they couldn't replicate it of course. I'm going to go back this morning and drive it for them, it has to be something in the transmission.

As far as the lag, it's caused by the "DBW" system. I call Bull on this. Every other DBW system I have had is smooth.

I'm just dying to get rid of this POS Corolla they gave me as a rental. So damn slow.

The dealer is going to dael with issues that you have and that they can confirm, not stuff that you wouldlike them to fix without having a problem.

My VIN begins with a 3, which I believe is Mexico. The Nummi (SP) plant was rated one of the top plants in America for Quality, just under the Ranger plant. I'm not too worried about quality of workmanship, seems like components are breaking more than workmanship. Mine was built on a Thursday, so they weren't drunk yet.

    09 Prerunner (6lug) here, manual trans 2.7L 4 cylinder

Radio crapped out one day..drove it to the dealer and they ordered me one about 1.5 weeks ago...haven't heard since, but my radio started working again, so no complaints. Factory basic radio.

The speakers in the truck suck. The volume maxes out at "55" and when you're driving on the highway with the windows down, you can't hear a damn thing. I'm thinking maybe I'll just go and order a new stereo from Crutchfield with some more output and cancel the factory radio replacement with the dealer.

The interior plastic scratches too easy..especially in the cab.

No D-rings on the front side of the bed. But available as option.

Rear suspension TSB unclear as to whether applicable to the 2009.

Transmission throw is very long..but they have an optional short shifter kit for that.

Other than that, I love it!

Just got back from the dealer. Radio is on order. They took a look at the braking issue and greased the driveshaft. Seems to be a lot better than before.

Asked about the TSB, they had no clue what i was talking about.

Dito. was told on another site that i wasnt use to an electronic tranny. Not really bothersome anymore, unless its a "real" problem.

I got my rear springs replaced under the TSB to try and chase my vibration problem (they suspeced axel wrap). They jipped me out of my shocks and din't do an alignment though. I am ongoing in trying to get the shocks and alignment done. The alignment should be a no brainer. I am only stating this as awarning. Just make sure they are going to perform the whole thing.
