I have been putting this together over the least couple weeks. I really want to grab the attention of the texting drivers here in cali....

All said and done its less than a $30 upgrade.

LED Flasher, Ebay, from china = $3
LED 3rd brake light for a tacoma, Ebay, from china = $25
Torx bits, Walmart, 3 pack = $2.50? (I needed to buy them for this specific job)

Install was super simple. Just cut the harness of the Ebay light in have, test wired the module in place, once I got it right (yes you can install it backward, its much brighter if you install it correctly, its says "in" and "out" on the module), I wired it and taped it up. The Ebay light comes with a new foam gasket that is sticky on one side.

I will shoot a dark video tonight and post it.

    What do you guys think?!

Here are the parts I bought:

The LED flasher went from $3 to $6, but still super cheap. Just takes a few weeks from china...

Rad idea. Hope you don’t get a ticket for it though.

    Yea me too.

Plan A would be to tell him its OEM. it looks very OEM, depends on the cop I guess.

Plan B is just to take the fix it ticket. I can just take it out and put the old genuine light back in and pay the fine. Fix it tickets in cali are very mild.

There are lots of cars on the road that I see with something like this. I am not terribly worried.

As long as the Red light is to the rear there shouldn't be a problem.
