2009 Tacoma Owner

I've wanted a Tacoma for a long time, and finally got a silver, doublecab one last summer. Good to find a forum like this.

All the negative hype Toyota's getting is unbelievable. Unless I actually experience a problem with the mechanical system myself, I'm not buying into the hysteria. I've been a Toyota owner for the past 20 years, first with a Tercel, then a Corolla, and now a Tacoma.

I can't say if there's actually real problems with vehicles, if it's the poor judgement of drivers or if it's propaganda put out by those biased toward other brands -- I suspect it's a bit of all three. My friend's wife had two accidents with her Highlander and blamed it on the acceleration, but I've ridden with her before, and her driving scared the crap out of me (not to mention I wouldn't put it past her or a lot of other people to blame accidents on defects to make a fast buck).

Anyway, I'm glad I'm not the only one who's happy owning a Tacoma.

What did you get: 2WD or 4WD and if it's a TRD is it a TRD Sport or TRD Off Road ????
