Understood...but during a discussion with the dealer, they suggested this. We were talking about what I could use to load the bed with...I own a truck to move musical equipment and they didn't want me to drop the truck off with thousands of dollars of gear in the back. They mentioned dirt and I said what about mulch because I needed to buy some anyway. They agreed.

    Edit:
What would you suggest? Buying 80 ten pound bags of sugar. ;)

I'm sure you're kidding but I'd either buy sand or pebble stones... Or a PRS, Marshall Head and Cabinet, Ernie Ball Bass and a DR Drum set :D

Yeah, get some lemons too, and you could sell lemonade at your gigs :p

If weighing your rig is out, then maybe the mulch dealer can estimate the weight of the unit of mulch he sells you.
Don't let the Toyota dealer play the overloaded card.
    Good luck.

I am still wrestling with toyota on this 09 tsb stuff they say they will not cover because is not an 08 truck.

Toyota told me they left the cushy springs in the truck for the guys who are buying a passenger sport truck it makes the trucks ride smoother,so my come back was what about the working stiff who bought a truck to work with . I test drove a truck that is basicaly fiction .Think about it even if i get the TSB springs done i never test drove the truck that wayand layed out my money already ,this is just not right either way .So i am stick to breaking the manufactures chops as it is their nonsense that has got me pissed not the dealers .

Last, I spoke to two dealers and neither of them even heard of the yellow sticker or the tsb .One of the one service guys said they changed the springs and kept the part number. With that said, i almost went into a tirade ,i told him that would never happen just from a law suit stand point and please stop talking about thing you do not know for fact.

With this i called my local toyota parts and told them i needed rear springs for an 09 taco access cab . Guess what part numbers he gaveme ,yep, the new part number on the tsb. I loaded my truck with 200+ mi on it with 600# and me in it the ride for crap as well as dangerous ,what could these guys at toyota possibly be thinking ,i will keep you all posted .any body that has gotten this done under 2009 would love to hear from you pm my line is open ,JackTautog

I wanted to bust balls too and this is what I came up with; Small claims court! For a fee of $29 I can have Toyota named as a defendant in a false advertising case. I can only sue for up to $5000 but that should cover the cost of new springs since they don't want to. I have absolutley no problem loading 1200lbs of sand bags in the bed for the judge. He can even take it for a cruise. Home Depot will let me return the sand for store credit and I'm doing work to my house anyway. I know, I know, I'm cluttering up our precious courts with meaningless garbage, but that's what I pay taxes for. :)

I'm at my stealership right now, waiting to get my retarded stereo replaced b/c it randomly turns off and wont let me ajust the the volume.

I also inquired about the TSB for the leaf pack... they told me the same jazz you are all getting. TSB NOT included for 2009 and they would have to ask Toyota headquarters which i'm sure will tell them the same crap about how TSB does not include 2009, where after I will go to another dealer and state the same problem till I get what I want.

I live in san diego, anybody know a dealership and service rep that will hook a bro up?

Not sure where you're at, but stay away from Toyota of Caldwell and Morristown if you're up north.

    :(

I'm checking out a few other Toyota dealerships in the area tomorrow about this. I haul by 48" Bobcat around on a every other day basis, along with garbage cans filled with grass, weed whacker, blower and 24"craftsman mower.

I thought i heard it bounce.. I wonder if that weighs enough.

Do the TSB springs compensate for the driver side lean of the Tacomas? I have had a 2006 and 2007 and now a 2009. The 06 and 07 leaned both in front and rear on the driver side, about 1/2 inch. With my 2009 the rear was dead level from the factory, but the front was still 1/2 low, I have since fixed it with coilovers, but I noticed they compensated somehow with the leafs to get the rear end level because it wasn't in previous years models I owned.
If i get the TSB leafs, will my rear end sag on the driver side or did they correct for the leaning issue with these?

You might be better off asking that in the other suspension tsb thread. We've all been shot down for ours.

Crystal AutoMall in Green Brook on Rt.22 is no help either. Until Toyota Corporate decides to act I think most of us that have been denied the repairs are going to continue to be denied.

my 07 taco middle leaf snapped in half. took a trip to several stealerships and all shot me down.Called Toyota, they wants nothing to do at least with my truck (41k mi). dealer quoted me around $700.00 more or less. I took a trip across the border into Mexico and had the broken leaf replaced and added a third leaf to both sides. It went up about 1 inch ,but it rides smooth and the total cost for the repair about $90.00.

Just talked to my salesman and he was very interested in keeping me happy. He even asked me if I had done the survey yet. I have not as I just got the survey via email. Well I am taking it in Monday morning, we will see how it goes.

I filed complaints with the Federal Trade Commission and the Better Business Bureau for false advertising. It takes maybe 5 minutes online. Maybe if a bunch of us do it and Toyota is contacted by the FTC about a truckload of complaints that just came in (get it? truckload? :)) maybe Toyota will put a giddy up in their step in adding the '09s to the tsb. I'm giving them until opening day of trout season, and I'll hve the paper work ready to file that day, if I don't have new springs on my truck by opening day I'm taking this to small claims court.

Well I spoke with my Service Manager and he said he would be happy to do it as long as he can verify Toyota will pay him for it. He is verifying with the district manager if he will get reimbursed. I explained this is the done on a case by case basis and what I use my truck for. He said he would get back to me on Monday or Tuesday to schedule if he can get the authorization.

I was granted by toyota the replacement to the updated springs (worth $1800), but I have to come up with $400 for labor.

WHAT?!? That's a total scam!!! Don't do it, I've never heard of such a thing, sounds like the dealer is trying to pull one over on you, if I understand it correctly it's either all or nothing. That's just bullshit!
