2009's - do you have engine braking going down hills?

Actually it's very different. With downshifting a standard trans, the DRIVER is in control of the downshift, not a computer.

 

I have the same experience. Also check out "tranny slip" thread i started.
If there is someone with good info on this tranny i would like to read up on it, seeing as my last vehical was a standard.

There are times when it kicks in halfway down a hill and you don't want to be sipping hot coffee at that moment. There are other times when it doesn't kick in at all.

It's a very annoying little game

 

Except that with the Auto you can pick any of the 5 gears on the J-gate so if you're conscientious enough, you can down shift it like a manual. When coming up to a red light from a long way away, I'll often cycle down the gears to bring it to a stop instead of braking.

Good concept, just not well executed.

 

Similar. Took a while to get used to, but I like it.

I think if you use the shifter to downshift the computer picks up on that and starts to downshift more aggressively.

Either that, or I am low on fluid. Hard to say...
