2010 chrome tail lights....To flashy!

I love everything about my new truck except the euro style chrome tail lights of the new 2010's. I had an idea to get some cheap window tint to black them out. I am not sure I wanna replace them with aftermarket either. Anyone have any ideas on this?

the new 09,10,11 tailights are wayyyy nicer IMO than the 05,06,07,08. LED, blacked out and clear reverse. I bet there are a ton of people that would trade with you in a heart beat.

i like the tails on my 07

 

you would have no problem swapping them out for 05-08 tails with extra cash in your pocket. i thought about painting my 2010 tails except for the circles

 

do you think it would be that hard to paint the 2010 tail lights like that ourselfs or to risky ?

 

My trucks a 2006 but I got my hands on some 2010 OEM tails and tinted them out.

 

Either oem type in undamaged working order have the same value. One is just preferable to the other...........depending on who you ask.

You didn't like the chrome in the OEM tail lights but you're cool with pinstriping, dealer stickerbadge, and an extra chrome badge?

Opinions are like assholes, but these look even worse than stock.

While I agree the stock 09+ taillights are too out there, you need LED backup lights to make good use of the backup camera at night. I just wish Toyota's designers had had some fucking taste when figuring out how to implement them.

On the other hand, it looks crazy ricey and was designed by...the Japanese. In a way, that makes sense.

 

Right...the stock lights are LED...Toyota made the switch with the 09+'s because that's when the backup camera was implemented...and they needed the extra light output...
