2010 Production Date Info

Found this. Not sure if it is BS or not, but good to know. Seems reasonable to me. Late summer 2010 Tacos on the lot?

My 09 Taco was built 05/09, which is after the date posted here. The guy at the dealership told me they would have at least a two month gap between 09's and 10's. The dealership is supposed to have 09's still coming in in August, so I think these dates are wrong.

 

06/13 my dealer was unable to request a custom built 09.

 

Purchased my 2009 Taco 6/6/09 and during shopping the previous weekend two dealers asked me if I was interested in purchasing a 2010, so apparently they can take orders at this point, meaning production has to be ramping soon...

 

My dealer indicated August as the month for the 10 Tacos....

 

According to my dealer, they were still able to order 09s as of last week. They found an 09 that was coming into their inventory, and somehow changed it's specs to match what I wanted...but this was on an order that was already set.

Agreed. That color is sick!!! My buddy/boss has this color so I don't think I'd be able to get it but it sure is perty.

 

I wish they would bring Radiant Red back. Barcelona red looks different, and doesn't look like a good red for a truck. Looks to feminine.

Don't mean to jack in on the 2010 color discussions (however IndInk was my fave until they disconned it for 09, then I had to go with Timber), but I'll tell you I used to work for a large Toyota dealer for a number of years (that's how I acquired a love for Yotas), and the new models always started trickling in around mid to end of summer.

That was usually well before most of the other manufacturers new models came out. The other guys usually started showing up in the early fall.

hmmmmm, i'm ready to buy a Taco and have gotten good prices on 09s, i wonder if I hold out another month or so can i get this 09 even lower? 2010s will be coming out? the dealers around me have tons of 09s on the lots, like overloaded. they are not moving at all.

also that link, it doesn't show any info on the FJ Cruiser? I have a friend that is waiting to buy a 2010 model

 

Well, he gets us where we need to go without any emergencies, crash landings, or long layovers, so we're fond of him.

I'm sure my local dealer had a 2010 tacoma 2wd base auto on the lot. I'll have to go back at look at it.

Not saying your lying, but I find it hard to believe that Toyota would be sending out the 10s already having not updated their website, etc. with info about them. I would think normally there would be some press on the 2010 before it hit lots...a website, spec list, etc. Maybe they dont do that until the 09 inventory is low though.
