I was in a tight spot the other day and when backing up, I sheared off the elec. plug at the mounting plate. I cannot seem to get the broken part away from the wiring harness. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

    thanks

You can disconnect the part you're holding at the last connector. Just follow the cable up and its attached to the bottom of the bed. I can't remember the process to disconnect it (its a different style connector). Then you can try and find a replacement. Or if you don't tow anything just seal up the connector with some dielectric grease or tape to prevent corrosion.

Thanks to the H state. When I was there a couple of years a go we saw that Tacomas ruled. We would be at any intersection on Maui and there would be from 4 to 8 Tacomas at any given traffic light. I've been a Taco owner since my first 1999. And that Toyota gave me a really good price for it just made me a better believer.

Wal Mart is where I got one for my 2009. I drew an electrical diagram of the OEM before cutting the wires. Got some female spade connectors and plugged in to new one. It was like $15 versus the OEM w/pigtail @ $200. The only real difference was the aftermarket did not have the little wiring diagram on the face.

Just go to walmart, autozone, etc ang get a generic 7 pin plug and wire it up. IIRC you can only buy the whole plug/harness assembly from toyota which costs alot more than just a $10 plug
