It's getting plasma cut right now. I'm going to Vegas for a week so depending on how that goes I might be having it welded up when I get back.

Truck is looking good, very interested in the rear suspension. As mine is struggling right now with all the weight I have. Hope to see you around sometime at the local meets. I'm actually heading to SC tomorrow to pick up some spare parts.

Yeah I went to one meet in portola valley. It was cool to see other tacos in person and look at the different armor. I'd say let's grab a beer but I'm currently in Vegas.

Thanks for being very informative on your build. I have a similar truck just older and 6 speed manual. I will stop dreaming of 34" tires, and lift & trim to get 285/75/16 instead.

I feel I will need to fully commit to upgrading the differential and cutting the frame all at once -- so its better to start slow since I'm new. I'm curious how do you know which new gear will work or fit?

It's in the works. Still have to bend up the middle section and I'm thinking of making the small fingers out of a solid piece with a bend down the middle to eliminate welds.

If you have an 05'+ taco with an elocker than you have 8" gears and if you don't have an elocker it's an 8.4" gear. Your fine for 285's with stock gear ratio but will notice a difference.

Thanks for answering my question. I'll use cardboard armor plates for now on, after seeing it here first.

I really want to do the 63" swap this summer, seeing your droop pics isn't making holding off any easier! Where did the front spring hangers end up?

I can get a measurement for you later. I am happy with the way it turned out for sure.

Thanks man, ride real smooth? Everyone says they're real soft and make the truck ride like a Cadillac on the road :D. I could use some more flex for sure, having wheels up in the air or the body really leaned over isn't all that comforting!

Yes it is very smooth. They are great for carrying heavy loads as well. I went with a 5 inch shackle and it gave me a really aggressive rake which is borderline too much my opinion. But since I have about 600 pounds of tools in my truck almost every day puts it right where it should be. All that can be addressed with how big of a shackle you use.
