I see it on some of the heavy trucks I work on and usually pulling the striker in a tiny bit fixes most door noise from seals.Rattling I have found is usually the rubber in the window track inside the door or loose track itself also inside the door.

I have the same problem on my 14 double cab. I just put some wd 40 on the seal. I will let ya'll know if this has any affect on the noise.

I'm a tech at a dealer, not saying names, but I've come across this a couple times on customers trucks as well as my last 2011 double cab. Mine was coming from the seal between the door and the body. My fix was to get some spray silicon or a tube of dielectric grease, put it on a rag and wipe down the seal very good with it. Rub it in as much as you can and then wipe off the excess so it doesn't attract dirt.

update on WD 40 on the seal. It had a minimal affect. I was able to get a better result by putting the window down just a fraction where it is not open but not completely up. This combined with the WD 40 seemed to eliminate the noise for now.

Been A while since I made this thread. I never did find a fix. I just deal with it. Worse in winter. I don't even 303 anymore. To much of a mess and not a lot of return.

I agree with you. There is no fix. I'm convinced the window glass is simply not as thick as the window seal is wide...creates a gap that makes the noise. And I agree it's worse in winter...colder temps things shrink, and makes the rubber even less pliable...more noise and more vibration. I noticed when the temp was 100 in summer, the problem was noticeable a whole lot less than in winter. Winter sucks.

I use this on all door rubber seals twice a year - fixed the problem right away.
Only needs to be put on all seas between the door and body (front and back)

    PERMANENT FIX!!!

As suggested earlier, the enraging sound you hear is the tubular seal sticking and unsticking.

But here's the kicker: It's sticking on the inside.

    The Solution

The weather strip that the red tube is pointing to is the culprit (little bastard).

Take your trusty can of WD-40, and stick the red tube into the hole provided by Toyota, and spray that shit like a crazy person.

    Get it everywhere.

Get some under the seal too, just for good measure, and for the fine scent of WD-40.

If it isn't dripping out of the seal, you didn't spray enough.

Go for a ride, and collect your sanity.

Has anyone else done this? How long has it been since you hit all those seals with WD40 inside?

I did it on 12/30 and they haven't made sound yet. This is a permanent fix.

Just the ones around the top corner. That's where the sound comes from.

I can confirm that this is a fix. I could press on the seal and you could hear it sticking and releasing when you take pressure off. The problem is on the inside of the seal. I loaded my driver's side door and the access cab door behind it with WD40 and after checking and adding a few times, it is gone! Nice and quiet with my sanity back intact.

    Thank you!

Does anyone think the wd40 would mess up window tint if it came in contact?

    Possibly.

I switched to silicone spray because I'm afraid WD-40 might "gum up" the rubber and make it stick again.

If that noise comes back I will swerve this thing into a bridge abutment.
