Believe me I told them what they needed to hear. I have used their service for the last 3 years and they have never let me down until now. I'm getting off in 1/2 hour and get these parts to the powdercoat shop, I'll have to miss class today = / . After that I'm shipping the polished emblems I have.

Obviously I don't know all the details, but this place you've delt with for 3 years.. why are they suddenly trying to screw you now? Are they having some supply delays of their own or are they literally just not doing the work?

    Tusk,

They told me they are too busy, too much work all of the sudden and put my work behind. It's never a good idea to burn any bridges but they could've at least told me what was going on. I was disappointed when I noticed that some of the boxes haven't even been opened.

I just came back from a powder coating shop. After talking to the owner he offered to do two sample parts for me to look at. I'll pick them up tomorrow and decide if it's a go or not. If they look OK and he can deliver within a reasonable time I'll let him do the job.

Hey man, for the shotpenned emblems, are those already shotpenned, or is a shop still doing them for you? and if it's already shotpenned, can you just send it my way? :)

I think the horns of fire may be a huge pain to powder coat.

Yes and powder coating a clear coat on them apparently.
    Straight from the man's mouth.

I'm not sure what he is doing with the multicolored ones, I assume painting them... I don't think they can be powder coated.

    Ok here's the deal.
I received the powder coated sample emblems from the shop:

The left black one and the right red ones are powder coated.

To my surprise powder coating leaves a coat thicken than anodize, much thicker! The down side is that you won't get that shot penning look after they've been anodized, however they will remove all marks left by the cnc machine. I did find another anodize shop and they are able to do the tri-color anodize but not powder coating.

Anodize with shot penning: Will have a sand-like texture. Will have the "sparkling effect".

Powder coating: Thick layer. Will remove all marks left by the cnc machine. No tri-color option for this.

What I'll do is i'll send these emblems to get anodize, however since I had these emblems delayed for longer I won't hold back if you guys want your emblems powdercoated. If you guys want them powder coated simply shoot me an email, otherwise they'll be anodized. I will try and get the colors matched for both anodize and powder coated.

If you guys have other ideas, coments, opinions feel free to share.

    -Andres
