    Just gettin started
From a very good source the New Taco will be a 2011 model. The move to the San Antonio plant has moved up the redisign so the production there will start with the Redesigned 2011 model. Looks will be close to that of the new 4Runner. No specs available yet. Will we see something at the Chicago Auto show as Toyota Loves Chicago to introduce new trucks. Will it have no info like the 4Runner until it is almost released? Most Likely. :rasta:

That kinda sucks about the being in the dark thing, but I am very excited at the same time for the new Taco... I'm most looking forward to hopefully a new engine option... Maybe?

I doubt it will be the reproduction year, doesnt seem to me like they will have enough time, seeing as the 2010's have already been out for a little while. Just my $.02 though.

Better source - from an actual Toyota plant employee. Production will start mid 2011 but it will be a 2012 release. All production tests begin in June/July of the previous year of productions.

It's gunna be a unibody that looks like a cut up 4-runner!

Nah, at least I hope to the deities it's not, lol. Honestly I'd be happy if they performed all TSB's, v8 or diesal option, better transmissions that are more robust, fixed the minor stuff (a/c squeaky fan ect), and kept the exterior body looking the same. Though, color matched panels on EVERY model would be sweet, and it'd have to lower production costs.

id much rather have my A/C back seat be the way it was on the 05-08s...and as far as the safety upgrades - theres too many, i dont even know what they all do. i do love the color of my truck though.:)

The new 4runners are so ugly. Looks like i'll be keeping the current taco forever. They last that long, right?

I dont know nuthin bout nuthin, but I cant imagine the latest Toyota recalls and ceasing of selling vehicles at dealerships leaves them in a financial picture where they would want to be designing new generation vehicles.

Seems like a risky endeavor, but what the hell do I know.
