I installed 2" wheel spacers on all 4 tires with a torque wrench at 100ft pounds 6 lugs and star pattern installed it. The truck steering wheel does not vibrate at all from 0 to 65mph but once it hits 65+ ish mph the steering wheel starts to shake. Is this normal? Do to the fact that the tires are 2" out instead of inisde the truck or not?. Unsafe? Or normal? Should I take the spacers off?.

Yes, spacers can cause vibrations. But without knowing which spacers you used the answer is maybe. Cast vs billet? Hub centric vs lug centric? Overall quality?

Google is your friend but try to avoid relying on information posted by teenagers and 20 somethings. I know, they are the only posters that act like experts and are the primary spacer fas. Its hard to filter. But there is a lot of good realistic info out there about vibration, premature front end component wear, and lug failure.

Who makes it and part number? Lug or hub centric?

Thank you and true. I'm just trying to figure out if somebody knows anything about it because I've never had a truck with wheel spacers the only thing I've seen online is that it might not be put on correctly I'm not sure what they mean by that if everything was put on correctly. Just trying to see if its safe. Ill use google thanks

If its lug centric you will probably get vibrations. That's why I asked. A manu and part number would let us answer the question too. If the manufacturer isn't proud enough to put their name on it, it may be made too poor tolerances. Vibes again and another reason I asked.

Edit - see you replied while I was typing...

Im thinking of just taking those off then the truck looks better but doing 65+mph fells pretty dangerous.

That says the bore is 108mm and I think our 2011s have a 106mm hub. That two millimeter difference could ddefinately cause vibrations or worse. On hub centrics like ours the bore has to tight to the hub. Will need to let a spacer expert weigh in at this point. I don't dont and wont own a set of the things.

The hub size is for sure part of the problem. Maybe the wheels also.

I agree with steelhd on this. I don't like spacers I've seen too many come loose at speed and it isn't pretty.

Ome wheels n a/t tires thread but more for road use . Seems like wheel spacers are not a good idea at all.

Maybe there is a ring you can install to make them work. I dunno though.

Bump for the OP. Don't want to turn him off his spacers without somebody who actually uses them weighing in.
