Hi, hoping someone can shed some light on this problem. I switched from 2wd into 4hi while going up a hill the other day heard a loud bang while doing so. When I got up on the road and went to switch back into 2wd I noticed that the green light was flashing and now can't shift fwd on and off, light keeps flashing. I tried backing up, disconnecting batt. ect. to no avail. Took it to dealer yesterday this is what they said- "C/S 4wd light is flashing 910 scanned c1286 - transfer L4 position switch circuit, found transfer case actuator shorted. - 124795 found code c1286 transfer L4 position switch circuit. Inspected front diff actuator and actuator on transfer case. Found no broken wires or corrosion in connectors. Needs transfer case actuator. Can not verify the front differential actuator works. The front one does not activate until the transfer case clicks into 4wd. The transfer case must be corrected first." Cost - 2342.46 which seems awful pricey. They claim there is an inner accuator as well as the one on the outside of the case? I would just swap out the entire case for much less money but I think it's mech. fine never had a single problem before this. Add to this what I read about the dif. accuator and I'm a bit confused about which direction to go. They claim 10 hours to do what ever it was they were going to do. Any insight on any of this would be greatly appreciated. Gotta love electronics. Thank's in advance Dave
