I brought my 3 week old truck in for the rear leaf springs, and so far cannot complain. Nothing noticeably different.

I wouldnt worry about the steering shaft TSB unless you need it. I havent heard anything from my truck.

So, I just had my TSB done yesterday. I have a '10 TRD Sport DC 4X4. They replaced the entire spring pack to the 4 leaf, replaced rear shocks, replaced entire front coils and shocks, and aligned the front end. Took them about 6 hours including a 5000 mile lube and oil change.
I'm going to be replacing the fronts with a new set of Toytec coilover assemblies anyways. As for the ride after the TSB, it's stiffer and rolls a lot less when cornering. I like it.

I took my "09" Access Cab 4x4 in awhile back for the TSB and received the new shocks also. This is just my opinion but I would certainly have it done, I noticed an immediate improvement in the ride, I suspose all dealers are different, I just mentioned it to the dealer and they ordered the parts and when they arrived the dealer installed them, never a question, a very pleasent experence.

Not sure why they touched anything other then the rear leafs. As per the TSB, all TRD's only need the rear leafs, and even 09+ non TRD already have the upgraded shocks.

I don't know why either, but I really don't care one way or the other. It's their money.

We pay for it eventually. Or at least, the people who buy new Toyotas will pay for it.

I actually tried to talk them out of it, but gave up and let them do their thing.

you have to call toyota to get a case number then have the dealer inspect it. then if it's affected, you get an estimate and a report from dealer and fax it to toyota. it's a pain, but you won't get anything done from any dealer without toyota being involved unless it's a recall.

Yes it does as long as it fits the criteria. I had it done on my 2011 AC

Does anyone know if the TX Pro is considered a "TRD" when talking about the new shocks/coils and "AAL" with the TSB?

Just took my 2011 double cab TX TRD in for 10k service and told them about the TSB on rear springs. They treid for about a half hour to talk me out of it saying it is going to ride very rough ride. They are going to ordered springs this week he said the springs cost around 3500 bucks, they had to get the big manager to approve it.

Will the TSB affect the rear height at all?

Yes On my 2011 DCLB TRD Sport it raised the rear 3/4 inch. And for the record, my shocks WERE replaced when the leaf TSB was done. and note I indicated i have a TRD Sport. Also any dealer saying the need to inspect is full of sh*t. My dealer did mine no questions asked.

I was warned of the same thing. There is some difference on the ride. Its SLIGHTly stiffer but not a drastic difference as Toyota seems to want you to believe. And the bottom line is it needs to be done or you can't haul anything over about 400 lbs. It is a truck after all, if you want it to ride like a car get a car.

    I had my 09 done.
A definite improvement over the "mushy" ride that the original small pack yields.
    I gained about a 1" lift.

Don't go to the dealership waving the TSB document. Just complain of a stiff ride when loaded. Let them "discover" the TSB on their own.

The current TSB did not allow for new shocks on my rig.

Don't listen to the Canadians on the TSB springs....after all they like skunky beer :p
(They get the upgraded pack initially)

Bottom line, it's free (if you qualify), get it, it's an improvement.

Well called today to follow up on rear springs, now they have changed there tune. Now they are telling me that i need to bring it up there loaded so they can have a tech drive to see if it need tsb. What to do im sure its okay now but what about when theres a 180k miles on it not 8k miles on. I told him it might be okay now but later in life this truck will be used, seeing its brand new now i dont haul much with. I want the tsb before i put on 5100s on then they will for sure give me shit. Any ideas what to do?

Can you go to a different stealership? Mine gave me no grief at all, never did an inspection or anything and I did my TSB at 3500 miles. Seems like they are trying to avoid doing the work
