If i keep it and the warranty is up on it, i am considering a lift..but it will be awhile.

Well now i know what people are talking about with this weight thing...Went to buy horse feed and a mineral block, less than 350# had a full tank of gas in it also. I never have hauled anything in it up to this point. It leaned and pulled so bad to the left that i could best describe it as feeling like it had a flat tire, I had to actually fight the wheel to keep it from going left and i'm thinking that because it's a long bed it will surely get worse in the future as the springs get weaker. What i think is funny is i can put a 5x5 roll of hay in my 97 ex cab (rebuilt) with 173k on it and it goes straight on down the road....Wish they still made them like that and for that matter the 99 i had could work too, but not this piece of junk 11....Price goes up and quality goes down and it doesn't get fixed unless the computer tells the "MECHANIC" what's wrong...Just airing my thoughts..lol:eek:

Ay man brother.... I've had several older Toyota pickups and still have a 2005 Tundra and was very disapointed in my 2011 Tacoma feel and performance. I just got my old man emu suspention put on my 2011 reg cab long bed yesterday and drove it home. The truck is transformed !!! Well worth the $1,000 I spent and about 6 hours with the mechanic installing it yesterday. Check in out for yourself at AutoAnything.com they have the cheepest price and no tax and free shipping. The people stopping by the shop kept making jokes about the OME Dakar rear springs as they are so heavy duty they look like something out of a F-350. You can also call ARB in Washington state and ask for the OME tech guys and talk to them as they are very willing to talk with you and give suggestions which I found very helpfull.

Gonna get the old man emu lift with the dakars pretty quick. Looks like I will qualify for the TSB, we will see what the dealer has to say. Anyway it sounds like I will be better off having them do the TSB even though I will have the lift on in the next couple of months. My thinking is I can pass them on to someone who is out of warranty and needs them.

i'll jump on the thread since it's title is for the 2011 tacoma. i just got mine back from the dealership today with the new tsb leafs installed. my story is identical to many others on how i finally got them. i went to a dealership about 3 miles away and they weren't exactly jerks, but they were NOT going to do any rear leaf tsb without proof. they wanted me to add weight and bring it in another day to have a tech inspect it. they even told me there was NO solution to the problem, but if I bring it in loaded down "they'll check it out".

then i called a dealership 10 miles away. and like night and day, they looked up the real leaf tsb and had me setup with an apt over the phone. he did have me come down to make sure the truck wasn't wrecked/lifted/or that i've messed with anything. got it done today, no problems, no questions, and no $$$$. all under warranty.

i'm not posting pics. it looks just like any other tacoma pic with the TSB leaf pack done.

I wouldn't deal with the hassle if you are going to get dakars anyway.

rear leaf tsb done. i don't feel like it made a huge difference. but, someone on TW live made the point that i haven't tried it with a heavy load. i'm guessing it has to be better than the standard 3 pack

Just called my dealership and he told me to bring it in Tuesday for a leafpack replacement due to stiff ride not bottoming out at 10,000 mile service. Yessss. 2011s are getting bigger leafpacks but i would tell them your ride is too stiff.

my stock leaf springs were actually pretty good (reading TW threads it looks like it rarely happens). I had about 450 red bricks in the back of my truck (550lbs ish) for my friends patio. I never bottomed out once going over the speed bumps in the home depot parking lot. i decided to get it just to have a little more confidence if I do decide to load more weight than that. i posted above about my dealership experience. as stated, the second dealership looked at my truck, looked at my stock springs, looked up the TSB, and said "let's do it".

since i just had it done monday i haven't hauled anything in the bed to really test it out. for anyone hesitant on getting it because they're worried about a "stiffer" ride. i honestly think it feels the about the same. i know it's only an extra leaf but i really an surprised at how it really really does feel the same driving with no weight in the bed.

My dealer did the TSB and put in a wheelers 1.5 AAL while I he was in there for free. I paid 300 for the OME struts to be installed at the same time and it was aligned under the TSB after all the work was done.

Basicly installed and aligned the truck for 300 bucks and billed Toyota the rest. Didn't ask for anything sandbagging lol.
