Lol I have one. Have you been in a kindergarten classroom? If a window whistle bothers you just wait till you have a child in school. Your gonna pass out at a school play

mine also does it above 65mph, plan on driving it to canada soon and i dont want to hear that damn noise for 7 hours straight. Maybe its an indicator whistle meant to inform you that your MPG will drop sharply if you drive over 65... haha...

I have heard the noise twice since I bought my 2011 DC a couple months ago. Both times it was in extremely high winds. Cross winds for sure, it was blowing the truck all over the road. I noticed the driver and passenger side moulding that go vertically from the top to the bottom of the window are not stuck down very well. So, next time its in for service I am going to see if thats normal or not. There is some movement when you push on the plastic. Which is probably what is making the kazoo noise I heard. It is loud, but not present regularly driving around.

Any updates to this awful noise? My truck is six weeks old, and I first heard this noise as I drove it home from the dealership! 65-70 mph, god-awful whine/wheeze. Took it to different dealership (live closer to this one than the one I purchased at) but they "can't replicate the noise". I'd like to take it back to the dealership I bought it from with something definite to tell them...thanks.

sounds to me like the windshield trim moulding.you can isolate it using black tape over sections of the moulding..

Got that noise again last week on the highway, when I got strong win at the right angle, even at 55mph, I got the noise, I recorded it on my phone. anyway the dealer has accepted to reseal the winshield, hope it is going to work, because for some with the problem it does not work, it could be a desing issue.

Good luck and you are definitively not the only case, because cases like this has been reported since 2006 or so when the 2nd generation came on market.

    Cordially,

    Claude,

my 2011 AC had the kazoo sound at 68-75 mph. I had a video of it and took it to the dealer and pretty much gave them the keys.

They called me with a diagnosis and referenced the TSB. I made an appointment and they subbed in a windshield crew to remove and re-seal/cure the windshield seal. No problems since.

See if you can get a video of the noise

I will have my winshield resealed mid-july, hope it will fix the problem. I have a new OME lift kit to install, I will wait after they reseal the winshield, just in case they could say that my lift kit would create that, last time it was my canoe rack.

    Good luck all,

    Claude,

Thanks all. I found a video on U-Tube with the same issue, and showing the owner pressing on the top of the windshield to demonstrate that the noise is eliminated with pressure there. I took a similar video yesterday, and am taking it, along with the TSB, to the dealership on July 15. Will let you know outcome.

Mine sounds EXACTLY like this, but it is coming from the center top of the windshield and only comes out when going 70 mph+. How do I know their is something wrong here? my wife and I push out on the upper center of the windshield when going 70 mph+ the noise is almost gone. Truck has 1900 miles on it.

There is something wrong. If you get that noise at any speed then your windshield seal is defective. Take it to the dealer and roll the dice otherwise it costs about 200 bucks to have a windshield guy come out and install it properly since Toyota obviously doesn't know how to put in a windshield
