may just be me, but why is this a big deal? i see a lot on this... you do realize that when you put the truck in 4wd that it shows up on the dash? if you need a light to show you what driveline mode you are in... ummm just saying.

nice job though on getting the retro fit working! hats off for that part!

And when a relative or spouse is driving your truck in the dark and needs to put it in 4wd, how is that going to help them locate the switch? Just saying...:D

I guess it just makes it easier to find the switch at night. Plus it is the only switch on the dash that is not lit

What is the diameter of the original switch and the 4runner switch? Just curious because I plan on moving the 4wd switch down by the shifter and putting a different switch in it's place. Don't have the truck on hand so I cannot measure it.

I have this system on my current vehicle and want to move it over to the Tacoma, using a standard Nissan start switch.

It's pretty easy. Tap the wires into the AC controls (so they dim with the controls tap the red wire to the green and white to green/white stripe).

Something Toyota should have done to begin with. Everything on the dash and radio / ac controls are lighted up except for the 4wd selector switch.

Any info on '13s. Are they already lighted, and if not, what have people been doing. Will '09 4-runner switched really work. Any info would be appreciated.

    Thanks

It's not about seeing what mode your in, it's about seeing the selector to put it into or out of whichever mode that's needed. Plus it looks complete after lighting it up and not a cheap aftermarket addition.

Do you have a P/N for the 4 Runner switch? Do you know what year 4 Runner it was from?
