$38K??? Are you kidding me??? For that kind of money I would be looking into one of those cool sounding full-size diesel trucks. Tacomas are cool, but I don't know if they're that cool. My truck is nothing special '06 SR5 DCLB 4X2. I paid $24.5K out the door when it was new. I thought that was a good deal at the time.

just bought Saturday night - black, 2WD, double cab, V6, SR5, PreRunner, towing package, Predator Tube Steps, shield package - $27,200

We initially were looking at used - but the resale value is stupid high - there were 2008s on the lot with 40,000+ miles on them - $24k+, $25k+ depending on options (like 4x4 or dealer added leather seats)... crazy I could go into a new for only ~$1000 more.... (it's all part of the game I guess...)

Don't sweat what the title app states, what does it say on your deal paperwork?

I am going to be 67 this year and figure if I buy a new Tacoma I will keep it until I die. The dealer had a silver 2011 double cab with tow package SR5 4X4. I tried for 3 weeks to get them down to $25,000 drive out, but would not do it. Then they sold it to someone else, but the financing did not go through. In the mean time they had a 2012 dark gray which was like the 2011 except only 2 wheel drive, but no skid plate like the 4X4s come with. They came down to $25,215 drive out for it when I found out that the 2011 4X4 was back on the market. They settled with $26,799 drive out plus got a cruise for 2 with it. I bought the 2011 with the 4X4. Besides I like the front grill on the 2011 better then the 2012.

I don't think I could have gotten any better even though it was $1,000 more then I wanted to spend.

    gt40.

The only thing I do not like is the brake peddle. Way to spongy.

Bought my first Taco last week after negotiating a rate via email.

2012 black double cab 4x4 long bed, SR5, towing package and Entune.

    30,022.80 out the door.

I didn't want the Entune, but figure I did not pay for it, screw it, gimme. Next week it's on to a 3" lift and new shoes for Tico Taco.

    None so far.
Have NOT purchased, yet, but I just went in to test drive & have preliminary price talks.
I also brought my road bike so that I could fit it in the short bed upright: It does w/ the front wheel off, gate closed, and w/ some type of fork mounting starting immediately behind the cab.

I looked at a 2012 Prerunner DC Short Box in Silver Streak w/ SR5 package. Factory only add-ons included chrome step tubes, Extramile alum. wheel upgrade, premium mats, and vehicle shield package. Dealership added tint, and that's it. They quoted 27k before TTL.

In addition to that, I have a 2006 Audi A3 w/ <71k miles for trade-in. They quoted me 9k for it. So, we're looking at (27k + TTL - 9k) = (Finance Price). There's better deals than this, but I just that it'd be fun to wet the bargaining whistle. Obviously, I walked out. I'm gonna remain calm and collected because getting my first Taco at an excellent deal is part of the experience.

BTW, I live in North Texas where trucks reign the road supreme 4X4 or not...can't wait to join the masses!!

First month of ownership... This month I'm removing front air dam, and also Rhino lining the bed.
OMG. I had no idea how much money you newbies were getting soaked for.

I'll cling to my 2007 Taco until death tears us apart and I leave it to my nephew.

In 1988 btw I paid $12,900 for the Toyota truck 4x4 xtra cab. Yes, brand new.

In 2007 btw I paid $27,300 for my Toyota Tacoma 4x4 TRD xtra cab. Yes, brand new.

I'm going to go down to the parts store and pick up some JB Weld, duct tape, and bailing wire so I can keep this rig humming along.

Geez! Over 30k. Really? You can't be serious. Really?
