New to the site. Im thinking about trading in my 2002 Trd for a 2012 DC TRD Sport. Wanted to find out what you think about this offer. $29,700 OTD for a DC TRD Sport, w/ roof rack, step tubes, tow package and mats. It's also a prerunner. Thanks!

29700 otd is a crazy deal for this package. Dealer must be taking a loss. Make sure your trade in is fair.

Keep in mind he's talking about a prerunner which is 2wd, out here in new england those aren't worth much compared to the 4x4 .

Thanks for the input. I'm in Mississippi now and off to Florida after that. If I need a 4x4 something is wrong.

    Yeah.
Dammit. Now I've got the bug. Looking at the exact same truck that Highspeed bought (online), wondering what leaf pack it has.

Highspeed - 3 or 4 leafs on that TRD OR?

I got an awesome deal on my current 2009 DCSB PreRunner, paid $21,500 new, and KBB shows it worth 21,552 on trade-in for Very Good condition, which it is (and the dealer knows, they have done the TSB's and remarked on how well maintained it is). Crazy thing went up in value from what I paid. I am sure they would only offer me about $17K for it initially. Sure would like a 4x4. Dammit.

Plenty of places on the coast to need a 4X4 if you go offroad any.

Cool picture...that reminds me of torrey pines near san diego, which is where I will be next week.
As for Florida 4x4ing...of course you can offroad anywhere, but you really have to want to and go looking for it. 4x4s are NOT in the demand here they are in other places.
In all my 35+ years of driving, I can remember maybe twice ever needing it, and Ive towed big boats up steep ramps, and driven down lots of dirt roads. For the most part its totally unneeded in south florida anyway.
In fact, I usually laugh at all the very capable 4x4 Range Rovers, Jeeps and trucks of all kinds I see tooling around, often by women who look like the heaviest driving they do is in the mall parking garage. Most I would bet will NEVER use it. Many probably dont even know how!
And brush gaurds for the urban warriors. Gotta laugh at those too.

    Yeah.
Dammit. You basterds. See, now there is a 2012 DCSB TRD OR 4x4 sitting in the driveway. Not mine yet, but they said they would work it to my numbers. Final numbers are not in yet, but starting with 19500 for my 2009 2WD PreRunner (no options other than floor mats, paid 21500 new) and new truck at invoice (about 30,700). They have to figure out how to get it down another 1000 or so but said they would do it by 11:00 AM.

This is the truck I should have bought in the first place.

On my 2006 I had TB Spacer, Air Raid Intake, True Dual Exhaust, 2.5 inch lift, Weather Techs, Tonneau cover, nerf bars, Wet Okole seat covers
IF you wanna take all the BS out of purchasing a truck go to TRUECAR.COM i used this to purchase my wifes Highlander and paid invoice minus the 1250 cash back and another 500 from the dealer.. MSRP 32861----invoice was 29788-1750=28038. I also did the research and found the lowest sales tax in area and was able to knock another 200 off the bottom line. With our pos 2003 neon (blown trans, engine knocking) with 100k on it we were out the door at 29,125. Dont pay for any dealer adds the dealer will remove them if they want your business =) happy hunting for the best deal..

4/14/12 - Purchased a 2012 Tacoma DCSB Magnetic Gray TRD Off Road with tow package, black tube steps and block heater for 32,500 OTD. I got 6000 for my Ford Escape, and put 2000 down, which brought my total to 24,500. My payments are 439.53 at 2.9% for 60 months.

That may not be a killer deal, but it is a fair deal IMHO. I saved a little and the dealer made money, which is the way it is supposed to be I believe.

    Yeah.
Sounds like a decent deal to me. I basically bought the same truck yesterday!

2012 Tacoma DCSB Magnetic Gray TRD Off Road + tow package + DRL + floor mats & door sill protectors. $32,705 sticker, $30,864 out the door, $19,500 trade-in on my '09 base 2WD DCSB with $45K miles. My payment went up a dollar per month.
