Had a Kenwood 9980HD installed in my 2012 Access cab. The company is telling me the steering wheel controls will only work on the left side. Also the dash kit used does not fit properly. I am told this product is too new and will have to wait. Does anyone make these products. Please.

I believe the installers are correct on both accounts. So far to my current knowledge there is nothing out there yet for an install kit that fits perfect. Do you have pics so we can see?

Also as far as the steering controls I'm pretty sure the Pac module will not work with the blutooth buttons but metra one (ASWC) might. I've got an ASWC in the mail atm and should be doing an install next week so I'll post my findings on that when I figure it out.

    1. That's correct... same with my 9960. The buttons can be custom programed but wont do the original functions (answer hang up and voice activation).

    2. Custom work will get you what you want as far as depth and angle. I had it right but had to move it forward after reinstall due to clearace issues... its a tight fit and my custom trim backing plate made my screen hang up.

Sub'd as I am interested in the same unit for my 2012!

I love that it has everything...Sirius, HD, Nav, BT, DVD and Backup Camera.

Were you able to utilize the factory backup camera?

I am not sure on your model but I used a SWI-PS (pionner/sony) ver 1.68 for a Pioneer HU, and I was able to retain full steering wheel controls radio & BT. It looks as it the SWI-JACK (jensen/alpine/clarion/kenwood) version 1.6.20b adds blue tooth controls, so you may be able to retain them that way. Hope this helps. As far as the dash kit not lining up perfectly there are several other threads on here that point in the direction that Scosche will have a 2012 kit out sometime in March. Not sure on color or other specifics.
