Can't get the Hazard Switch and Passenger Restraint Indication Unit out of the factory housing. I can remove the outer screws holding the unit but I cannot get to the screw in the middle. Looks like I have to take the stock receiver out from the housing to get to the screw. Any help would be appreciated.

    Aloha

You dont need to take the screws out. If you look between the box that holds the clock and hazard switch, and the thin piece of plastic that screw down, you can see little clips that hold it in.

You just need to pry it out gently. It is a pain in the @ss to do, but can be done. I fought mine for quite a while before it came out. It also might help if you do take out a couple screws, so you can flex that thin plastic to undo the clips.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply. I was trying to take out the sleeve around the unit. I finally figured it out and all is well. Mahalo

how did you get it out. Did you remove the stock radio first or just slip it out by removing the screws?

Have fun...I still don't really know how the heck I got mine apart...I know it was an extreme PITA! At the end of it I had like 6 kitchen knifes stuffed in places...

Thanks for the tips. Finally got mine out. Now that I figured it out (with y'all's help) I think I could do it again no prob. I was also trying to take out the sleeve it was in. Realizing which piece to remove and where the tabs were was the key.
