What years does this work on? Probably not an 06 right?

 

06 will work but you might have to do some grinding

No clue...you will have to check some wiring diagrams.

Also, I have no clue why I originally wrote 2012 (maybe it's because I graduated in 12'), but the radio is from my 2013.

 

Is this a direct drop-in for a 2012?

 

I know this has nothing to do with this but what did you replace it with and do the steering wheel controls and aux/usb in still work with the new one

 

It looks like the same one that's in my 2013 base model.

 

I have no clue if this will fit a 2012 (it is out of a 2013). I have been a total clutz trying to sell stuff on TW.

I replaced it with a JVC kw-nsx1. I have not installed the steering control adapter yet, so my controls do not work right now.

 

'12 and '13 should be close to the same, if not exact.

I installed one on in my 2012 and fits perfectly. Just need an antenna adapter cable and a 20 to 28 pin adapter cable for the steering wheel controls and bluetooth to work.

 

Does Toyota make these adapters? I am so disappointed that the touch screen wasn't standard when I got my 2012.

I have a 2013 touch screen in my 08 (same 05-11). All I needed was the antenna adapter from any audio place ($10) and these parts I got from Toyota:

PT546-74120-MC (Scion IQ bluetooth mic) - $46.00
PT546-00120-CH (28 to 20+8 Wiring Harness) - $39.16

Someone needs to do a thorough write up on how to swap a 2013 touchscreen radio into an 05-12 .

Got a 2014 touchscreen headed my way.

 

There really isn't much to it as long as you don't mind the deck protruding 1/8" (or less). I don't even notice mine anymore.

All I did was snap in the top and didn't worry about the bottom bolts. I could make a bracket if I really felt like it but I have had no issues. I have had multiple people in my truck since the install and no one notices that it wasn't stock unless I point it out specifically.

All I really cared about was the bluetooth and eventually the rear view camera.
