Well, crap. Did the cut/splice mod Oct 27. Was driving yesterday and the light began flashing in the middle of the drive, then stayed on solid. Was off again this morning, but turned on about 10 mins into my commute.

Not sure what happened, maybe the connector is loose, or the wiretap I used is not making a good connection. Either way, I gotta go back in. :frusty:

Great thread. Got scotch locks from Napa and did this in through the havac panel. A little tight to get it plugged back in, but doable with two flat heads and a little finesse. No more light.

For many years my TPMS was looking at the tires each day before I drove--that and checking the pressure every couple weeks; still works on my motorcycle...

Damn, that was tough because I made it tough lol. When you unplug the wire harness, remove the electrical tape and loom. Work as close to the plug as possible lol. I didn’t remove the electrical tape near the plug and tried to work on it from the middle half of the harness. It took forever but finally got it done. Also plugging harness back in sucked. Shine a flashlight through the small crack under the opening to see where the plug and plug-in is. And just play around. Hopefully you won’t have to plug and unplug twice like I did (since I didn’t get a good tap-in on the red wire the first time). I have shorty stubby fingers too. Thanks OP

Seen the thread pop up again and said its time. Took about 5 minutes to complete the mod and another 30 to plug the connector back in. Either way no more light!

So... just tried this mod tonight and my TPMS light is gone...... but...... now my airbag light is permanently on! Any one have any idea how this could have happened, and what I could do to fix it??

    Thanks!!
