New batch of bumpers came off the welding table today. Managed to get one out before FedEx hit.. was probably still warm.

We'll be out for a scheduled prototyping session for the new 05-11 bumper tomorrow but the rest will go out Thursday and Friday.

GROUP BUY IS CLOSED but have had a few not able to make the purchase. I'll allow 2 more members to take advantage of this until Feb 22 at midnight.

The last few on the list will ship today so everyone should have tracking numbers or received their bumper.

I appreciate everyone's business and let me know if you have any questions. Be sure to send some good install photos!

Did the install Friday took me about three hours. Don't know if that's usual time but not bad doing it solo. Winch mount was perfect fit winch sat in just right. Trimming the bumper piece took the longest (and trying not to break a clip). Just need to cut that black trim piece. Here are a few pics. Kept forgetting to take a pic.[IMG]

I'll take some poser pics when l get a chance!
Great product US Offroad has, for my application it was exactly what I wanted.

I can attest to the quality of these parts myself. I saw them on Eddo's truck and it looked top notch fit and quality.

One small suggestion I make is that when selling these, you should incorporate into the price as well as the list of parts included a set of Brufeforce or SOS Concepts bumper to frame reinforcement brackets. Extended winching just off the bolt on bumper tabs will eventually either bend or snap the tabs clean off the frame, rendering the setup totally useless, and the vehicle attempting to be recovered still stuck. The reinforcement which mounts to the actual frame rail is essential.

Just some food for thought OP/Vendor

Roberto makes a good point. I installed the Relentless brackets which are bent flat stock, but the gusseted versions he recommends would certainly be stronger. Excellent food for thought.

Install looks great! Very nice job.

We are actually working on some reinforcement brackets. Over the years we've never had a pull off or any reports of the frame ears giving way. Having said that I think it's a good idea. Looking at it for the Tacos and FJ's both.

If you go gusseted, I'll buy a pair when they come out.

Yeah, non gusseted braces would be worthless in my opinion.

However... something to keep in mind. Compared to other bumpers out there, ours has a solid piece of steel from one side to the other, not just right and left mounts with nothing in between. This greatly distributes the load where the chances of a failure are much smaller than bumpers that mount independently to the frame horns.

Also, the mounting ears are formed from the same piece of .250" steel as the winch tub including the two inner stud holes....so you would have to fold this backplane in the process of bending the mount ears... would be pretty tough to do. Plus you have the winch tub ends that are front to back, the tub is bent which increases strength.

If you say "well, that doesn't increase the strength of the ears" I'd have to argue as it basically makes them one piece left to right and you would have to pull the ears off of the frame completely. This is where the reinforcement pieces would come in to play but it would take a massive amount of stress to make this happen all at once.

No worries about strength from my standpoint as it currently sits. I'll wait for your HD upgrade, to call it that. Funny how much attention and close inspection this thing draws from the more hard-core guys. Not their cup of tea necessarily, but the quality of the build and the design is appreciated.

I know this definitely would not cause issues all at once but extended use and/or frequent use under stressful conditions COULD always cause problems in the long haul is where I'm getting at. The reinforcement plate should definitely have gusseting if you plan on making one.

Once again, fantastic job on this design and had I had stayed with the stock bumper I would strongly consider this route.

Agreed. Where we include some plates that act more as 'washers' over the elongated holes we would basically add a dogleg to them to reach the frame and would serve both purposes.

Thank you and good to know. You guys probably noticed that I shipped FedEx instead of UPS. I have been shipping with UPS for over 15 years with various businesses but I just can't deal with their damaged shipments (in and out) and their business side keeps screwing the pooch on a monthly basis. Enough was enough.

So I shifted to FedEx. So far so good after about 30 bumpers.

IF YOU RECEIVE A DAMAGED PACKAGE PLEASE KEEP THE BOX!! So if a claim has to be made they will process it, without the box they typically won't.

I've made some minor changes in packaging last year that helped but if these gorillas want to airdrop it then it really won't matter.

It's ironic that they will withstand a 5000lb truck banging it around but UPS can't deliver all of them without tearing up a few. You should have seen the very expensive drill press they tried to deliver last week.. not a straight piece on it, not the belt housing, the motor housing, cracked the table and bent the track in a V. Unreal.

One of my buddies used to work for UPS. You should see the way they handle packages and heavy items. Since they are in a huge time crunch in the early mornings to make the shipping deadlines they literally grab the stuff, throw it into the truck and keep going until they are done, fragile or not they, just keep going. I could see them putting these in the truck right side up and then as the driver makes his runs (I have seen the way some of them drive) the part tosses and turns all over the place in the back of the truck.
