I had my throwout bearing replaced and the noice got reduced, but not gone all the way. I got the transmission replaced with new one and the noice didn't change at all, now i'm waiting for an appointment with toyota rep. I just went to the dealer and tested a new one and it does not sound anything like mine. I have 45000 on my truck already.

Wow! That's a lot of driving in a short time.

    Good luck at the appointment.

Huh? I thought I read a bunch of threads related to this. I went to Taco Bell to celebrate my new truck purchase with the shits with about 50 miles on the clock. Noticed I sounded like a diesel. If it's rattling away I can turn off the AC and it immediately goes away.

Figured it was a heat shield or something, and could have sworn I read a big thread on it with everyone saying they have it too.

I will say I've had some pretty weird issues with the manual transmission too, hesitation getting in to gears and a bunch of noises most prevalent going from 1st to 2nd at anything less than 3k rpms, or if I just barely get off the clutch in traffic and push it back in to go to neutral (traffic, or pulling out of a gas station and getting to a stop sign right after) - no time to hit 3k rpms.
