Hey guys, new to the forum. I am currently in negotiations with a dealer in my area and wanted to check on the price we are currently at. This is a MGM 2013 DCSB TRD OR w/ Off Road Towing Package, NO JBL OR ENTUNE, $32K OTD. Should I pull the trigger?

Also, after the test drive, I left it idling and did a walk around. I could hear a very noticeable tick, that was not the lifters. Is this normal? I hear of the Tacoma Tick, but, I don't know if this was it or if it is even exists with the 2013 Tacoma's. Thanks for the help in advance. I hope this was posted in the right forum.

My new Tacoma ticks. It's a manual 4x with the towing.

There is a thread on this forum where everyone posts what they paid and where. It pretty informative for me. I just bought one 2 months ago an leaned on that thread to help me negotiate. From what I remember 32k if that's truly OTD is a decent price.

Funny thing is that dealerships have more leverage with negotiating prices. If you don't buy at the asking price or an already negotiated price because it's not low enough, someone else will. Sometimes walking out over 1k means that you shouldn't be buying the truck in the first place.

But in general, you should be able to source the truck from high 20's to low 30's with little effort. Try using TrueCar or USAA's car buying service.

For example, a 2013 Tacoma w/ these options is at about 31k...

    50 State Emissions (FE-E)
    Standard Paint (-PAINT)
    Graphite, Fabric Seat Trim (FR13)
    Options Pkg Not Desired (-NOPKG)
    Trd Off-Road Pkg (OF)
    Convenience Pkg (CP)
    Towing Pkg (TO)
    Nautical Blue Metallic (8S6)
    Black Tube Steps (R2)

I think that a lot of the calculus depends on the region and the dealerships involved. I speculate that some dealerships do their damnedest to keep their inventory rotating and rely on kickbacks and used car sales.

I was able to get mine at just under 30k before taxes, title, etc. I think that is well under invoice and I am stoked with the vehicle so...

    Best of luck to you

Definitely a decent price. I got my 2013 DCSB TRD OR with a few extras just under 33 with taxes, licensing and doc fees. Pull that trigger Bro!

So only $1600 for taxes and fees? I'd watch out for that, or the DMV may surprise you later on. Google says your sales tax is at least 6.75% which is $2052 alone.

Go to TruCar if you don't have USAA. See what it says.

Like others have said, peruse this thread....check truecar.com also. Is it a pre-runner or 4x4? If you got them to come down $4k on the sticker price, I would grab it. You don't see that too often on a Tacoma I don't believe.

NC here as well. Regular sales tax and auto sales tax rates are diff. 3% for auto. I just bought my 4x4 DCSB OR for around 500 less, and went to multiple dealers to get it. You might offer a little less, but it sounds like you are pretty close...
