2013 Non Entune Touch Screen Head Unit Audio Question

My 2013 Prerunner has the Touch Screen Non Navigation head unit. Overall I've been happy, the Bluetooth phone connection is outstanding. The best I've used. My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S2 ( Will be traded in later this year) All my music is on the Galaxy, and it works ok with the car stereo...but not perfect. There is no music navigation on the touchscreen. The album I select is what it will play until I select another one on the phone. I originally blamed it on the head unit.

My daughter connected her Iphone 5S tonight to the stereo, and it looks like the stereo works best with the Iphone. Track and Browse were enabled with her phone hooked up.

I'm using Double Twist on the Samsung right now, and Mixzing on my HP Slate tablet. No Tracks or Browse available for either. Is there a better music player I can download that will work better with the head unit? I doubt seriously that the head unit will only navigate an apple product.
