Went to dealer today to drool some more and decided to check out the different leaf packs.Last weekend after driving the SR5, TRD OR,and TRD Sport it seemed the TRD OR had the smoothest on road ride of the three.I noticed today the Sport had 4 leaf pack springs while the OR and SR5 have 3..What is the reason for this?Is this part of the Sport suspension pkg?

I thought it was so you slam the bump stops when driving on the street at a reasonable speed and go over a small dip in the road? That's what mine do.

I have an 2013 OR Pre-runner. Towed a trailer with maybe a total weight of 1,300lbs. It was hitting bump stops a lot on bumps. Complained to the dealer as there was verifiable visible evidence. Dealer said that is normal, that is what the bump stops are for, that is what the truck is designed to do.

I said I've owned a couple of Ford trucks, used to own a boat that was heavier and they never hit the bump stops. Dealers response they have different springs etc. I said the Tacoma is rated for a 650lbs tongue weight. Dealer said if I put a half ton in the back of my truck the rear would lower a lot, that is how it's supposed to be.
