My daughter just bought a 2013 Tacoma (not home yet). The salesman said it doesn’t have a gps navigation system on the “radio” screen. I emailed the salesman, who sold me my new (2011) RAV 4 (his dealership is in another city) and he said if it has blue tooth, then she should be able access maps. I’ve watched YouTube videos of people accessing maps on the 2013 screen. Before I get frustrated messing with it, can I access a map on the radio screen??

Depends on the options. Not every one came with gps (maps). I do believe in 2013 it was available, but not a much chosen option
You could use Bluetooth to listen to the directions from a smartphone

It is very common to swap out the radio, as it’s pretty easy, and fairly inexpensive

On my 2015, which did have a touchscreen radio but no gps/maps, I installed a joying head unit, which has gps and maps, but I primarily use it for CarPlay, connected to my iPhone

They do go on sale frequently

This is only an example, many, many different head units that will work

Pretty rare to see a 13 with nav in the wild, I believe it was only available with the JBL radio in 13.

    I have a 2013 - no nav/no JBL package
I bluetooth connect my phone and my phone spits out directions over the speakers
Works fine for me, no issues

I had a loaner recently that had a map on the screen, it moved as I drove and I found it very distracting
I tried to turn it off but gave up after about 5 minutes

My 14 didn't come with it either but I found a Nav radio and put it in. It's nice to have to see roads and stuff coming up but for directions honestly google maps is way better, I like it mainly because the Nav radio has the maintenance app where you can set millage and date reminders for most maintenance items.
