Mine's the double cab, and they used the stock wheels. I'm on my tablet or I'd post a picture. I think it's mostly an appearnace package. Skid plate, step bars, roof rack, ugly bed stickers and a ever useful, totally worth the price of admission, leather manual cover.

2011 - the last year of the real skewp.

2012 skewp is more like a slit not a skewp.

Read my first post with the edit. Prior to 2013, there were 2 Sport packages. The "Sport Upgrade" package is the one discontinued. The regular Sport package is still offered.

Hey guys just wanted to say I just took the monthly Toyota test (Im a salesman at Toyota) as far as the sport package I did not see anything and as far as getting rid of the hood scoop I also did not see anything however I did see that they will offer a package with softex leather and LOTS of chrome  The softex is nice due to it not being as hot in the summer and not as cold in the winter however at the dealership we equipped a taco with chrome all over and it was pretty tacky also took 4months to sell!!!! so I think thats a bad idea, however the addition of the upgraded audio is very nice, I dont thing that they will all come with nav and entune, which is nice cause most phones have nav and entune is paid service that really slows down the phone, but display audio is nice, as far as the sport package I think that Toyota should do away with it and just offer scoop and paint keyed for the OR i would really like to see the Baja in the southeast because as a few may know its not available here. Just my 2cents

I just ordered a 2013 DC Off Road last week and I could have gotten a TRD Sport Extra Value package if I wanted, which included color matched everything and a skewp.

These articles saying the sport upgrade package is discontinued are stupid, more like they just renamed it. Probably to make you feel like your getting an "extra value". lol

Resale value sucks for any of the TRD packages because the blue books and black books don't differentiate between SR5 and TRD. In fact, if you use Toyota's online lease calculator, the lease end value is the same between SR5 and TRD.

I just tested your theory on Kelly Blue Book, and KBB does have separate accessory choices for SR5 and TRD Off Road. However the trade in values were exactly the same!

The TRD resale values hardly suck compared to other trucks though! A TRD Off Road is still worth more than a comparable F150 FX4 after 5 years and costs less to begin with. The SR5 Tacomas just appear to be the best value.

Also, if your going for a private sale on CraigsList, you'll definitely get couple extra grand for your TRD when priced right beside an identical SR5.

I think this in generally true for any type of vehicle. Bells and whistles usually don't hold much value on used cars or trucks (no matter how useful they are functionally). Resale value usually goes off of quality and mileage. You shouldn't buy a TRD cause you want good resale value in the future. Get it cause you want the features on it.

Just to add to what snowbrd said, TRD's tend to hold their blue book value better than SR5 since the average buyer does realize that they're getting more in return for a TRD rather than an SR5 or base model
