this sucks... i've been stalking this site and the toyota lot for a solid year and half waiting to get rid of my 2 vehicles to buy a new tacoma.. i wanted a 2012 dcsb TRD sport with the scoop! now if i buy a 2012 it's almost a year old already.. and if i buy a 2013 it wont be what i want. I guess i'll be waiting for the 2014's and see what they have in store. HOPEFULLY they change something drastic for the 2014's since they are doing away with the 'sport'

    2013 TRD Sport Package Discontinued

Toyota must be purging the worthless options. :crapstorm:

This is a good thing for the consumer.

But I'm sure they will come up with some other worthless option/options to make up for the discontinuation of the sport package. Just sayin'

First, like some of the guys said in this thread, the scoop will probably be an option for all or most of the models.

Second, they just redid the front end for 2012, I pretty much guarantee very little will change until at least 2016 or later.

I don't think they have any worthless options. Almost every option, I believe, is in demand by someone. What I find weird is how in some ways, this truck is forward thinking, and others it is so far behind. For example, the hands free. Having all the commands given to the truck, then forward them to the phone, rather than just being a speaker to the phone. While I know this isn't earth shattering, and Toyota probably isn't the first, I know a few people with new cars whose vehicles don't work this way, but the latter. But then they put a manual rear window in a double cab, so I have to climb out every time I want to open and close it.

Oh, and I think Oz was patiently waiting for heated mirrors.

I don't get it , we've been able to get Toyota factory heated leather seats in the TRD's in Canada since the 2008's but still no heated mirrors

It's Canada , uh , it get's cold in winter , I can't see in my mirrors to change lanes or back up but my ass is sure nice and warm , thanks so much Toyota

That's what's strange. When I was showing off my truck, I'd say, "Oh, and check this out!" And whoever was checking it out would say, "Hey, that's really cool!" Then turn around and look at something that was "old-school" or not what they expected and go "that's weird..."

One rumor I have heard is 2013 may be the last year for the manual transmission in the Tacoma. Not sure if it points to significant changes in store for 2014 or just fewer options.

Never liked the sport to be honest besides the skewp. I would rather have lockers
