Meh, Wrangler with a leather interior...

Why not keep your Taco and get a JK or TJ to have fun with? Best of both worlds.

How many miles are on the ODO. I couldn't remember if you said it was a trade-in or not, which should weigh on your decision heavily if its a 2013.

Check out Jk Forum....D.W. Death Wobble makes any wrangler lifted or not, unsafe at any speed.Weak ball joints, steering clunks, a/t overheats, very poor fit and finnish, penestar head problems, Rain leaks. poor paint, back seat too up right, beer can thick steel body, poor m.p.g., weak tailgate for the spare,on and on,...you dont buy a jeep, you rebuild one. J.E.E.P Just Empty Every Pocket. With all the problems with the JK, I took the JK off my list.

The death wobble and pentastar head shaking itself to pieces helped me decide on a Tacoma.

I have both a 2010 Tacoma Access Cab 4x4, V6, Auto.and a 2012 JK Wrangler 2 door. The wife loves the Jeep and wouldn't trade it for anything. Well.... maybe she would trade for a Mercedes G series! I have had a few different Dodge trucks. The Dakota and Full size Ram were a 3 year and out vehicle. The Tacoma is a truck that after almost 3 years, gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling for long term ownership. Since we don't have any kids, the Jeep can run around without a back seat which offers more cabin storage, or a place for the dogs on long trips. In the Tacoma, the dogs are cramped. I have not seen gas mileage in the Jeep above 17 MPG yet but it only has 10,000 miles on it (it may get better soon). My Tacoma is usually going 20 MPG. It all depends on what you want to use your vehicle for! Make a decision based on everyday use. I do however feel that my Tacoma will be in the driveway long after that Jeep is gone.

Those Rubicon 4-drs are VERY nice vehicles. I test drove three, a 2012 and two 2013's (Jeep dealer is next door to where I bought my topper, so I had time to kill).

Very impressive, cons are still they're not great at emergency lane switches, I tried one at 60 mph, and it wasn't such a great experience, kind of touchy actually. The Taco passes that test easily.

And of course the reliability - tons of cylinder head problems with the 3.6L Pentastar. Also, RE: cylinder heads, I heard those Penstastar heads are not serviceable, meaning if you need a valve job sometime, it can't be done, you'll have to buy a new head.

But they are some slick, impressive vehicles all-considered if you have no use for a traditional pickup bed. The 4-dr actually has 6-ft of cargo space with the rear seats folded down, so that is nice. There's actually a lot of cargo room, the rollbar interferes with loads like a refrigerator, but still a useful cargo area.

Don't get me wrong, I love the styling, and the idea of cruising around with the top down gives me a boner, but I just wish ANY other company built it.

If Toyota built the Rubicon, there would be one in my driveway right now.

Go for it. I looked at them before buying my truck. Just couldn't afford the one I wanted. Good luck with your decision. It's a win either way - great truck or jeep.

If you like it and it works for you pull the trigger, if you dont like it you can always sell it. Its just money not the end of the world id say do it and get it in bright blue too.

I'd trade my Tacoma in for a '13 Rubicon in a heartbeat. I don't think anyone would be willing to make that trade though...

I'm curious to see how the new diesel wranglers will do. Maybe after med school I will pick one up.

Four time Jeep owner (1955, 1977, 1977, 1995) and three time Toyota truck owner (1990, 2005 Tundra, and now 2010 Tacoma) and will never buy a Jeep made after 1979. Beginning with the YJ, Chrysler destroyed everything that made the Jeep what it was, and it will never return.

Brutally strong simplicity was what made the Jeep special. The CJ7 transmission and transfer case were used very successfully in full-size trucks. Now there is a huge business in installing full-size truck drivetrain components into Jeeps.

Don't get sucked into the faux "heritage" of the Jeep name. Heated leather seats are for the soccer-mom crowd.

Hah, that's what you get for buying a girl jeep (yj)... I had less issues with my TJ than I have with my tacoma and it had more miles on it...

I dunno if I could get rid of the Tacoma reliability for Jeep reliability. They are super nice though

But seriously, why can't Toyota build a 4x4 with "jeep like" qualities? Most importantly, a removable top.

    Who wouldn't buy that????

I would settle for a solid front axle... Although from about May till September I never had a roof on my jeep...

They do (70 series Land Cruiser) pretty much everywhere on earth except North America. I drove one for a year and loved it, though the right-hand drive took a bit of adjustment.

I'd absolutely buy a removable top 4 door Tacoma with a SFA! Even considered asking a body shop if it were possible for under $10k....never did though.
