I can take them or leave them. I'm not sure it adds much to the look.

I'm glad my tacoma doesn't have them....i wouldn't use them. They are kind of hit or miss. They look okay on a red runner but kind of strange on the other colors. I prefer no DTRLs.

Had a car where the headlights were on permanently....HATED it...

I agree. I guess the good thing is when you turn on your headlights, the orange DTRL turn off. The pic above kind of looks like my headlights are on but its the LEDs tapped into the DTRL wires.

Here is with the headlights on:

This is exactly what ours looks like, only we traded the tires in at Discount Tire for an All Terrain. They didn't have the General Grabbers in stock, so I had to settle on the Nitto Terra Grapplers.

I saw one in person when looking at T4Rs for the wife. Honestly they look a lot better in person. Ended with a low mileage 2011, but would have been just as happy with a 2013

I drove an 11 or 12 (can't remember). Quite Roomy, rode good and decent power. Just couldn't get over the MSRP. Geez. 34K for an SR5 4x4.
Paid 16K for my taco and am just as happy(used of course). Really not a fan of the newest ones. The limiteds look nice but talk about for-real sticker shock. The SR5s look like poop.

I didn't read the whole thread but I see that the trail edition seems to have a manual shift? Is it cable actuated? Or does it still use an electrical actuator? My buddy's 06? won't engage 4low, and is about a grand just for the part and a bitch to replace. Also mentioned was a full and a part time 4x4? Why do they do that?

I hate all the electronics. I would even like manual hubs in my taco...

Not just the trail has a J shift transfer case, at least through 2011 you could get a jshift transfer case in other models. My wife's 2011 sr5 has a manual tcase

when you traded the tires in at discount tire did you have to pay any money, or was it a straight up trade?

I dont hate them, they do look much better in person. But designing a plate front bumper would be challenging. That grill/bumper looks to be all one piece.

You're not far off. They are and it requires a little trimming to fit and ARB on it.
