in for file. Entune also messes up for me every once in a while. typically if I'm receiving picture messages on the iphone while connected.

You can download the file from your dropbox onto your computer. Then from there transfer the file into the flash drive.

ok got drop box on my computer. formatted my jump drive. just dragged the file to the jump drive and got this popup saying the file has property’s that can’t be copied to the new location. and asks if i’m sure i want to copy the file without its properties.

will this be a problem? ..

Trying to update the software in my Tacoma. I'm not having much luck. I get to the part where I select upload and it says the software is not compatible. went back and did the process after removing the navigation SD card with no success. I called Toyota and asked them for help and they recommended I go to the dealership and have a technician look at it. I am going to start from scratch just to make sure I did everything correct. If anyone else has had the same problem, I would appreciate any suggestions.

Turned on my truck this morning and my entune said there was an update available. Probably through my phone since I have it linked as well as the entune app on my phone. For all I care, there isn't any Apple Carplay or Android Auto. LOL! Just wasted my time and data.

(Note: Here's the link to the 15-page PDF file of the original Toyota Service Bulletin: T-SB-0160-14 Rev2 December 22, 2014, which covers the many small bug fixes incorporated in this firmware update. It covers 2014 and 2015 Tacomas only, no other Tacoma model years. I also attached the same TSB PDF file to this message in case the Toyota URL linked above stops working.)

(Additionally, this TSB & firmware update also covers:
2014 4Runner, Highlander, Highlander HV, Sequoia, and Tundra
2015 Avalon, Avalon HV, Prius V, Sienna, Venza ... but who cares about all those models, this is TW forums..)

2014 Taco owners have to do this firmware update manually, there is no OTA (over the air) update available through a phone because the old Entune app is no longer supported. The new "Toyota Connect" app which replaces the old Entune app doesn't offer any ability to connect directly (via bluetooth) to the 2014 Taco's Entune Plus head units. (not sure about Entune Premium head units.)

This worked for me, as follows:

I formatted an 8GB** USB thumb drive as "FAT32" with "Master Boot Record" on my Mac OS X computer:

    Screen Shot 2023-01-02 at 10.25.56 PM.jpg

then drag-&-drop copied the "13TDDANA-DA00_0156.kwi" file downloaded from DropBox link above.

(**Not sure about this, but if you have problems w/ the truck not recognizing the update when using larger thumb drives (>64GB,) you might try using a smaller drive.)

Inserted thumb drive into truck USB port while the truck was OFF. Then turned on truck & navigated to "Setup --> General --> Software Update --> Update " and it let me start the update process immediately.

Took about 6 or 7 minutes, a surprisingly long time.

No new features or changes to any menus or sub-menus, just various bug fixes apparently. It did seem like the screen navigation & touch response was slightly improved.

Here's a sequence of photos showing the update process. I blacked out the unique ID on my head unit.

Many thanks for posting the info on the firmware update on the 57090 entune. The tacoma I recently purchased has never had the entune updated. Using a 64 gb thumb drive with "13TDDANA-DA00_0156.kwi" file downloaded from DropBox the update will not boot. The unit reads or sees the file name but no update. The button to update is not active. Any suggestions?

OK I got it to update. I still get a message for traffic and weather that states "HD signal not available for this service. Please try again later". Any help understanding what this needs to make it work would be greatly appreciated.
