Hello All,

I received an e-mail from a friend that just informed me that the 4-Wheel Drive Park at Hollister Hills (Upper Ranch) is CLOSED from March 13th - 16th for a private event and will not be open to the public. To verify this I called the Rangers Station at HH and received confirmation today (3/2/14). Ranger Station: 1 (831) 637-3874.

So at this time we either need to decide on another going to a different off-road park or select some trail(s) to explore. Or as Glen suggested move the date back a week back to Saturday March 22nd...

Suggestions / Comments?

3/22 is the north bay meet

 

yeah im not too sure about la grange either, was just throwin it out. i'm bummed about Hollister but I guess we can check it the following Saturday. mj la grange is another ohv park out east, modesto area I think. lots of mud from what I hear.

 

I might be able to do the following weekend.

Ahh yeah I'm cool off mud. Shoot if you're down to go east, we might as well do Slick Rock and get some camping in

 

La Grange is about 30 miles east of Turlock/Modesto area...It's in the foothills and is a OHV converted from an old dredge/mining area. It has varied terrain from a big ass mud pit and wide open area, small hills to climb (like super small hills) and different trails you can take. It's not like HH or Frank Raines with rated trails. Most of the dudes out there ride ATVs or dirt bikes. For guys coming from the Bay it's a long drive for a OHV park but it could be worth checking out if you want. It is nowhere near the size of Carnegie; La Grange is much much larger. The terrain is mud/clay when wet and pretty hard packed when dry.

 

I just got back from La Grange today and it was fairly muddy in certain spots but definitely avoidable for the most part.

 

This ^ might be able to give our new tent and equipment a good workout.

 

The 22nd is the northbay meet and great. Could we go Sunday?

Yeah lets push the trip back to Sunday the 23rd. That way we can spend all day Sat meeting and greeting, getting pumped up on our trucks, and then go wheel em on Sunday!
