.. .. ..without damaging the facia? There is no easy access to rear of these switches. Is there a secret to releasing and pulling out? I am looking at Fog Lights, RR Diff Lock or Inverter. Thanks.

Without speaking specifically to the switches, I purchase a small hand held pry bar years ago and it has made my life soooo much better when it comes to working on cars. Mainly when it comes to dealing with plastic pushpins and clips. It's my go to on parts like that. That's where I would start. They also make plastic versions for more delicate parts that metal could damage.

Mine is similar to this, except a craftsman.

That tool will only destroy the panel while leaving the switches/blanks firmly in place.

The switches and blanks must be removed by squeezing the tabs in the back and pulling out to the front .

The panel must be removed to do so.

    Not at all.

Here's a thread that shows you how... FYI: The lower panel is easy, but using the upper panel requires just a few more screws to remove.

Remove the change drawer by pulling it out/upward when open, then reach your fingers up in behind to push the lower switches out from behind. Then reach through the lower switch openings to repeat the process with the upper switches. No need at all to remove the panel.

Don't use metal tools to pull out plastic parts. Nothing will come good from that.

Took a look at that last night, but there seems to be a lip or cover under those upper switches. At least my fingers could not find a way in. Mirror adjust and lower switches were no issue.

I may be remembering incorrectly, but it seems like when I was putting in the bass knob on my 08, the blank that I removed pushed out the back. I pressed from the front and it went out easily enough. Could be wrong though...

From the lower switches and blanks I was able to take out, they come from under the dash into the cab. The pressure tabs are on the top and bottom, but recessed in 3/8 to 1/2".

Not everbody has the advantage of monkey arms and long skinny fingers like I have I guess, I do recall the top row being a bit challenging for me too. Too bad the lazy way didn't work for you.

I got mine from harbor freight.... they work great on the dash and blank switch cover removal. I also use a pick to pop out the blank switch covers and do not mind the little divot that the pick leaves behind. I did this for the blank covers by the USB port next to the 12V outputs. Just beats having to pull the entire dash apart to get to that lower piece, for me anyway.

I took the door off of the fuse box panel right below the push switches. I was able to easily use just my hand to get the blank out.

The total install time for my Rigid Dually D2 Spots from the time I opened the UPS box to snapping this pic was about an hour, including mounting the lights on my relentless hood hinge brackets, and aligning them.

I didn't need to use any panel tools. Just the soldering iron, wire cutter/stripper, and a socket set.

To remove the switch blanks on the right hand side, I just carfuly screwed a screw into the blank and pulled it out since I'll be putting in a switch. If I ever need to replace the blank , I'll pick one up from the dealer or Bone Yard.
