Is there room to work behind the blank w/ the screw in it? The blanks on my left side are all full...

You can access the bottom three by popping out the coin tray. Top three, you will have to remove that part of the dash. They won't come out from the front without depressing the tabs. The above link is no good.

Dash removal isn’t needed for the upper three,

Just go under your dash with an 18” or longer screwdriver/tool and a flashlight, look up in there and you can see the back of the blanks, insert tool and push a tad, get one out then you can carefully reach in with your fingers and pop the others if needed.

If done it that way on all three 2nd Gens I’ve had to add the factory fog light switch.

Used a small trim panel tool to remove the small blanks when I installed the switch for daytime running lights and a voltmeter.

    Scratches, dents, lots of squeaks.
How did you run the wiring up there? I have it in the cab but haven't run it behind the panel yet. I am using that exact location for ditch lights.

I ran a clothes hanger up behind the drivers side of the console near the gas peddle, and pulled the wires down then ran them to the fuse box.

Lower panel is easy to work with, upper panel is damn near impossible. Sorry to bring up an old tread. But I’m working on it now and although the lower panel has push retaining clips on both sides, the left side seems to not want to come out.
