Curious to see if this ends up working for you. This thread has me second-guessing installing the lift kit sitting in my living room.

I dunno.. Seems like I did the same process... maybe it’s like rebooting any computer to solve an issue, sometimes it takes more than once . tomorrow will tell if it actually worked.... I’m doing a round trip through two canyons.. it’s where the failure showed up before... so we’ll see if it really took...

Did 180 miles today, 2 lane highways down one mountain canyon and back up another.. started off easy, gained trust in the repair... started to push it through the turns to see if I could make the ABS come on.. pushed it pretty hard. steering was 100% ok... looks like resetting the VSC the second time worked.

Typically it seems a zero point reset, which is all that is being done, doesn't fully rectify these issues. The issue with lifted trucks is the adjusted steering geometry and changed tire size. Over time with components wearing the expected yaw rate for a given steering angle deviates from the window allowed by the skid control ECU.

Keep the thread updated on if it stops indefinitely. I also suggest checking your steering system for any slop or backlash from worn or loose mounts and components. This is hardware that'll really affect the operation of the VSC system. And makes more sense why it wasn't an issue for 10k miles then all of a sudden was. G'luck.

Thanks... very good advice on steering components- I’ll look through them, and I’ll definitely keep posting if the issue shows up again...

whomung, I bought a 2009 tacoma DCSB in 2012. Put a leveling kit on shortly after and developed the same exact problem... always right sweeping corners. I've come to realize that it is always when the road cants down and to the outside edge of the corner. Had the OME kit put on Monday and was hoping that this would go away. Of course it didn't and had the typical incident on my way home. It usually only pushes me into the oncoming lane one or two feet and only lasts a second or two, although it feels like an eternity. Been lucky that it hasn't led to an accident. Please keep posting on how your truck is doing. I'm making an appointment for a VSC recailibration.

    Sooo...

UPDATE: The VSC reset that was done back in july failed last week. The same lurch to the outside happen... i was headed to town, so i took it to a dealer... I told them the symptoms, and that I’d already done a reset... they ran diagnostics... didn't find anything... they did a “zero point reset”... which failed going back up canyon. Didn't last 50 miles.

Soooo... i’m gonna go through the steering and check everything... but i see lifted Tacoma's all around me every day... So I’m wondering, could the problem be in the electronic unit itself?

Same exact issue with our 2015 taco trd sport. Started happening after adding the lift.
