So squeaky leafs must be a thing with basically all of the Tacomas, even those with the newer packs or whatever. Mine's a 2014 DCLB Sport and I've noticed quite a lot of squeaking from the back end, which you can somewhat replicate by pushing up and down on the rear bumper. I'd heard they replaced the friction pad thingies on these newer ones with rubber instead of plastic. Could there be something else squeaking back there?

I've seen the bike tire fix, fluid film, etc, but with this being a pretty new truck, I suppose the dealer can handle it. I would assume, though, that any replacement leaf pack that a dealer straps on would be the same as the one from the factory and would likely begin squeaking in the same way?

My 2015 started squeaking too with less than 5000 miles on them. Dealer said they adjusted them but they still squeak and I was finally told by dealer, its just the nature of the Toyota Tacoma leaf pack. Then I got under and sprayed mine with the penetrating Lithium stuff that firms up after it is first sprayed and penetrates. So far so good now!

Thanks for the reply. Where did you spray exactly? The whole length of the leaf?

Make sure the leafs are clean. I had some sandy mud in my shackles and it was squeaking a bunch, cleaned it the other day and it hasn't made a sound since.

I assume you need to be able to remove the wheel for that?

I did as others said first and power washed any grime and sand off the springs at the local hand held car wash then sprayed 1/2 can of the penetrating White Lithium per spring pack per side, where the pads are between each spring, at the body attachment points on the truck, and generally between each leaf. No more squeak so far. That was a month ago and I live on nasty gravel roads

You aren't kidding about the lithium grease. A few squirts in some key spots on the leaf springs and I haven't heard the squeaking in quite a few days. Will be interesting to see how it holds up.
