Should we have to go to the interim fuse block.
I found a better picture. I circled the connector.

But first, let’s wait on OP to verify power at the ECM.

I'm on it and NO WAY am I giving up here! I was watching some videos on the dash removal and getting the wiring gist in my head. I think we are close! As well, rain and holding my 18-year old Border Collie in my arms last night, as I know he is on his last couple days...was really hard. Not playing the violin here, just letting you know I am not bailing and am appreciative of everything you have done. Warmest regards to everyone.

Driver's side kick panel. The squirrel has a name, according to my neighbor lady. Should I tell her she's going to be saving some money on food for it in the future?

WTF the mechanic at the Toyota dealership called it over the phone right off the bat. "Been seeing lots of rodent damage lately," he said.

I'm still going to wait the opinion of all the awesome people that helped me through this s***! You guys are the best and I'm not done yet, obviously! Thank you and thank you again!

P.S. Thank you TnShooter & Dm93 (Test Don't Guess) for the spot on advice to probe and look for this kind of stuff & extra effort you made to research diagram, fuse, relay, wire and pin locations for testing and everything else you did. Not to forget Steves104x4 for the encouragement AND....and I mean a big AND... Saving me from being a part tosser!

Have you checked the connection from the shifter to the transmission?

I've seen this on a few jeeps and an f250

There's a shift lever linkage that can fall off. If it falls off, while the tranny is in gear, then it stays inbgear, even though the shifter was moved to neutral.

Oh, never mind, fk that squirrel.

Fking rat chewed up a $1600 harness on my Kawasaki...

I was starting to suspect redent damage based on where we didn't have power but not from a squirrel, how did a squirrel get inside the truck:eek:

Yea testing may take time and be intimidating at times but it's so much cheaper in most cases than firing parts, in your case it was no parts required.

Dm93, thanks again for everything. I took a moment the last couple of days to slow down the input of info and get a better perspective of the overall wiring of the truck. The individual schematics of say "the starting system" made sense on paper, but when you went to see them physically on the truck, it was hard to put a schematic to a location, let alone understand where I was in reference to the circuit or its electrical path.So you and TnShooter really helped out just telling me to go test this specific area or this pin.

I'm not sure the All-Data subscription was all that helpful looking back. Suggestions as to another similar subscription are surely welcomed. Good example: Trying to find out which harness and wiring loom I am dealing with here. I could give it a good guess and I thought I could find it in the All-Data info (which you probably can), but I have spent a good amount of time this morning searching it and a variety of other things regarding this harness (PP-T40)? and am still not certain of its responsibilities. I do not know if I should try and repair it after I strip back what I can visibly see or have access to or if I should purchase that "section" and replace the entire loom..properly? If it helps. I do know exactly where that squirrel resides and am going to replace his loom here shortly. Thoughts?

    PP-T40 doesn’t sound like a Toyota part#.
I’ll see if I can find a wire harness routing diagram.
Toyota (and many others) like to wrap multiple harnesses into one.
A that gets expensive and labor intensive.

I looks like you should have plenty of good wire before the connector.
I’d personal repair it myself. It won’t be fun, as you’ll be working in the floorboard and under the dash.
    But it looks doable.

I am going to call the dealership for the fun of it for pricing and the specs of it. I do like the idea of repairing it which I am capable of. Thanks for the diagram and the suggestion to entertain the repair.

Any ideas on the blue and green destroyed wires as to their function? Are those the beige wire involved with the #11 beige wires we were trying to inspect or??

It’s hard to tell exactly where those wires are going from the picture.
But I do know that the Stop wire is Blue. It goes to the ECM and the Shift Lock Control.
And sure enough, you are stuck in Park.

Again, it’s a guess. But no matter what, you have to fix the wires.
Fix those, and we can go from there:thumbsup:

    MORNING CHORES
Looks like I will be soldering these four wires found in the driver's side kick-panel area. Actually, it could have been a lot worse. Hoping for some piston moving w/ fuel accommodating them this time AND the ability to shift out of Park! I have no idea what three of these four wires are for with the exception of "the Stop wire is Blue. It goes to the ECM and the Shift Lock Control. And sure enough, you are stuck in Park", TnShooter.

The TnSHooter / Dm93 duo are credited for the awesome diagrams and knowledge that led to where I am at. Not to forget the other members for their help.
Wires crossed... I mean my fingers are crossed! I'll get this right one of these days.

What connector(s) do those wires go to? If you can provide that I can tell you what they are for.

Fired right up! Nothing like four important wires being back in the game. It'll put the OBD II scanner on it for the heck of it, but she cranked maybe two seconds before the engine lit : )
