So the rear Dakars showed up today! Big thanks to Marie from @HeadStrong Off-Road for getting them out fast, and also good call on ordering the full bushing set since these didn't have the front ones. Just waiting on the rear shocks to show up tomorrow and hopefully Thursday starts the whole tear down process
Also got lucky in a way and both packs were + rated

Those look like the new improved Dakars....they should have round yellow isolators between each leaf (at the ends) and black square ones in the middle of the pack between the leafs. Also, the new packs are sans the front rubber bushings since most use poly ones.

I got mine the other day and was very happy to see they were the new ones. Hopefully no squeaks.

Thanks! I'm shooting for early afternoon to have it wrapped up so it can at least get an alignment

So lift was a pain in the ass the whole way through. Won't bore with the details of that but got everything in finally. 8 hours start to finish working by myself. Only thing left is the rear brake lines and front dif bushing when I get around with it.

    So measurements:
Before: Driver Front 20-3/4 Pass 21-1/4 Driver Rear 20-7/8 Pass 22
After: Driver Front 23-1/2 Pass 23-1/2 Driver Rear 24-1/2 Pass 25-1/2.
Total Lift: Driver Front 2-3/4 Pass 2-1/4 Driver Rear 3-3/8 Pass 3-1/4.

Now this is no alignment no test drive. Just literally dropped it off the jack stands. Also no front spacer. Truck has a full tank of gas and probably 100 pounds in the bed

    Nice!
Sorry to hear about the pita. :( Wish I coulda helped.
FWIW, mine took all day with 2 seasoned wrench-turners (and me). :gossip: we were drinking a little to stay hydrated of course.

I think you will see that those fronts won't settle a ton, but the backs will quite a bit.

    No worries!
Just heavy metal at awkward angles and my impact shit the bed. No cutting though which is nice. At some point I guess toyota put Allen heads on the sway bar links to help take them off and on which was a nice surprise.
Had to pop over to my buddies shop to get the top hat on one of the front struts. I'm very happy how it looks it's got a nice stance front to back. Off to Sears tomorrow for an alignment then putting it to work for some lawn mowing

Looks good....seems high for the 4th notch. Also, weird that the driver side is higher without a spacer.

Was very confused by that as well. I think it will settle down after the drive to and after the alignment. I'm just hoping the driver side doesn't get to much of a lean

Went in without a hitch. Had to use a jack to assist getting the bottom mount in that was it

    Freekin' awesome!
As for the high front which looks cool the way it is btw):
    - The front should settle 1/2 inch after a drive.
    - Did you torque to spec after you got it back on the ground? You need the weight of the vehicle on everything before you batten down the hatches.

NIce work, and 8 hours by yourself is damn good time IMHO!

Yeah I'm super happy with the stance. And the ride is pretty damn awesome even with the full Dakar Leaf pack. I made sure to not torque the crap out of the leaf spring bolts until it was back on the ground. Gave it a good shock drop off the jack to help it. So torque it after did a 15 mile drive to the alignment shop and another 15 home and torqued it back up again. I have a little take off shutter and a little vibration at 40-45mph so ordered the carrier drop spacers. And since I'm doing the oil change this coming weekend I'll probably then do the front needle bearing replacement bushing.

Nice! I had a vib at 20MPH, I went through the trouble of measuring all the angles and used a 3 deg shim to fix it. I still have a slight take off vibe. I'll track it down one of these days. That's lift life...lol

I have the ECGS bearing and will see how bad things are before I install it.

I have a 3* shim and CB drop that will be going in at the time of install....hope that my vibes won't be too bad as I hate doing things twice.
