Hey OP.... Headed to Fairbanks in a couple weeks (driving). Any advice? I've got the block heater, synthetic oil, new tires, battery warmer. Did I miss anything? Dead Horse is no joke! That's WAY up there

Nice, I have this thread going to cover that.

Also, I have a list-of-things to take in a google doc that I will publish before taking off. For your list, I would like to add a extra battery(I plan on pulling my dually batteries out for the journey). I would not be too worried about journey to Fairbank, AK at all. I actually plan on staying in hotels until Fairbanks, AK. The last leg is where I want to venture out and hence all the extra junk in my case.
Good folks from Deadhorse, AK have confirmed that they do not plug in unless it hits -30 and below(Gas engines). So, Fairbanks, AK is relatively a safe bet considering that there is good roads and enough towns in between. Where are you heading from?

I just drove to Waco, TX to spend a little time with family before I leave. It shows to be just under 4k miles from here to Fairbanks

Do not worry about those dashes, they are just there for decor.

I was really glad to find this thread, I am about to undergo the same install on my 2015 and I will go get that ratchet before I order the heater.

Any way to cut the bracket off, maybe with a Dremmel or something like that?

I had the stealership install the block heater on my 2015 when I purchased it.

Then I wanted to figure out how long I need to plug the truck in, when it is below -40C outside. Was like this for 2 weeks solid last winter.

In 1 hour it gets from -40C to -25C ish, truck likes starting much better at that temp.

Anyone know the Toyota part number for the 2015 4.0 block heater? (Tried a google search with no luck.)

The one I used is PU140-00913-1. Based on @vijay's experience I couldn't say if it really is correct for 2015 but on my 2008 it was easy peasy.
