2015 Sport Build

I figured I'd make a build thread, even though it is a bit late.

I've always wanted to buy a Tacoma but didn't want a car payment. I finally folded in March of 2019 and bought my first Tacoma, a 15' Sport. The vehicle was completely stock when I picked it up. Had 23k miles on it. I told myself I wouldn't spend too much money on it... but you know how that goes.

I wasn't sure how much I would off-road the truck. The first thing I did was change out the headlights, tail lights and fog lights. Went with Tacomabeast headlights and tail lights. Also installed Morimoto LED XB fogs. The light output of the fogs and headlights were not good. Planning on a retrofit soon.

 

Next I needed seat covers and floor mats. Installed some leather Clazzio seat covers. Went with the Huskey X-Contour floor mats. They fit perfectly and don’t curl over time

 

Some smaller mods. LED map/dome lights and plasti-dipped the emblems black. Also a stubby antenna

 

CMC was done in preparation for 33's and a lift. Didn't have a picture when it was done so I had to take one now. Don't mind the dirt. Also added a bed mat and Total Chaos bed stiffeners as I wanted a roof top tent

 

Bought a Pop n Lock to prevent tailgate theft. Also wanted a locking tailgate as I wanted to by a tonneau cover. Also bought black SCS F5 16x8 +0 wheels from my buddy in preparation of the lift

 

I had plasti-dipped my front emblem. My dad bought me a OEM Pro grill for my birthday

Decided I needed more light. Installed the Cali Raised hidden light bar mount with an Amazon light bar

 

Was torn between buying a lift and tires or a bed rack and a RTT. Went with the rack and tent first. Max Modular 14” rack with a Tepui Kukenam 3 Ruggedized



Put it to use within the next few weeks. Used some quick fist mounts to mount my shovel and axe

 

After telling myself I’d wait a few months to buy my lift, I bought it a few weeks later. OME complete lift from @HeadStrong Off-Road with 887 coils. SPC UCA’s. HD OME Dakars in the rear with wheelers bushings. Wheelers super bumps front and rear with wheelers u-bolt flip kit. Took most of the day to install but was super easy. Had to wait a bit for tires

 

After a lot research, went with KO2’s in a 285/75/16. Had to hammer back the pinch welds and do some minor work but no rubbing at all.
