I have test driven both Twins in DC and AC configs, they drive really nice on road. IMO much nicer than the current Gen2. I saw the Gen 3 at NAIAS, I like everything about it so far, but the wait for more details is killing the buzz I had back in January. Hopefully by sept we'll start to see 2016 tacos on lots here in Michigan.

This isn't exactly sales numbers, but according to this rag, Colorado's are moving off dealer lots twice as fast as Tacoma's.

There's a smaller supply on dealership lots. That's what is happening there.

Look at any Chevrolet lot. There's only 2-3 Colorados/Canyons on the lot at anytime. Not much to choose from. The one's that come in popular Z71 packages are gone immediately. However my local dealer has had a loaded Canyon on lot for over a month now...

I have only seen one Colorado at my local dealer. They are going fast.

I think yours are. You seem to just get riled up every time someone has a slightly different opinion that yours. Big keyboard jockeys like your self dropping curse words and going after different viewpoints isn't that cool man. This is a Tacoma forum, you aren't that cool.

The same could be said for tacos in my region. None of the 7 local Toyota dealers stock more than 3 tacos at a time. Hell according to Cars.com there's more GM twins on dealer lots than tacos within a 250 mile radius.

^ That's misleading. GM lists vehicles that are in transit on their way to a dealer lot in the searchable inventory before they've even left their plants. Toyota doesn't. When I was looking for a Canyon to test drive, the dealer site showed they had 10, all in transit. The Toyota site showed 8 Tacomas...all on the lot.

    ^ This.

GM never has what you want on lot for corporate orders. It's always stuck on a train somewhere. It's a PITA.

I have test driven both, and for me, the Canyon and Colorado were MUCH nicer overall. Hopefully the '16 Tacoma will close the gap.

Anyways, my point was that I'd rather GM shut up about how much overtime, lunch break skipping, and extra employees they have brought in for the Colorado. Stick to sales numbers, I don't care how stressed out your van factory is trying to make roughly half as many mid sized trucks as Toyota does from only two plants, one of which produces both Tacoma's and Tundra's. I guess Toyota employees must of been skipping their lunch breaks for the last 20 years too

I'm not sure i could buy a Colorado or Canyon in good conscience knowing that so many honest, hard working folks are working 60+ hours a week without even a break for lunch. I disagree with GM slave driving their people.

It's Missouri. Time works different there. 60 hours for them is like 25 hours anywhere else.

I guess the word is out and people want to get a reasonably sized grill while they still can!

Lol, I see. Here I was feeling sorry for them, but really I was just being ignorant. :D

Seriously, I honestly like the new GM trucks. If I'm not mistaken though, a comparably equipped tacoma is thousands less, on MSRP anyhow. Domestic makers seem to like to offer more discounts than imports, in my experience.

I'm curious about the 4 cylinder that is available. It has pretty good power numbers but I wonder how reliability will play out. The 4 cyl was a totally new engine, right?

I thought the 4 cylinder carried over and only the V6 was new to the Tacoma.

The 4 cylinder is a carry over with slight changes to reduce friction.

I don't think it is an ugly truck at all, only time will tell, but I think Toyota has nailed, both with added features over the Gen 2, and updated styling.

I know that barring something totally unseen there will be a 2016 Tacoma sitting in my driveway come winter and I don't think I will be the only one...

Good for you 8102!Just giving my opinion!Toyota has done a decent job for nailing it to start the new 3rd gen!I mean come on they had to!At this time i think Toyota just designed the new 3rd gen.off of the look from previous manufactured trucks as well as new ones!Just my opinion!Toyota will make this 3rd gen.a dominate mid size truck force!I don't doubt that at all!I've seen the new 3rd gen.(what its supposed to be)at the Los Angeles auto show!I don't care for it but i'm sure it will eventually grow on me!I would definetly choose it over the Chevy/GMC mid size truck!Best wishes to you 8102 on your 3rd gen.purchase!
