Hey guys, wondering if anyone else has this problem. Just bought a new '15 DCSB last week (replacing my 2013) and I've noticed cruising down the highway there's a faint whistle or noise coming from the drivers door/window. It sounds like the door or window isn't sealing very well. It's not a very loud or prevalent noise but definitely there. Anyone else have a similar issue? Any fixes besides complaining to the dealer.

I think it happens in our trucks at highway speed in a cross wind.
Kind of annoying and I have not found the solution yet.

I also noticed that on my drivers door on my 15 DCSB. Not consistently although my passenger window does have a faint squeak which now drives me nuts!

I don't think this is the same as the x-wind issue. I had that on my '13 and this sounds different. That was (for me) more of a howl and it could be heard over the radio. This is more of a faint noise coming from the window. It reminds me of when you put the window up but stop it just a fraction before it gets closed all the way and there's just a very very faint gap before the window is completely seated in the rubber and you can hear the wind coming in that way. I've checked that multiple times by putting the window up and down and trying to make sure it's up all the way and the weatherstripping up there is good.

Yeah it's not very consistent for me either and I really only notice it at highway speeds. Been cruising around the city all weekend and didn't notice it but the last few times I've had it on the highway at 70+ I've noticed it. It's driving me nuts too. I might have to play around with sticking something in there to see if I can get it to stop and hopefully narrow down exactly what the problem is so I can get the dealer to replace whatever needs to be replaced. The truck is 1 week old, this shouldn't be happening.

I hear ya my passenger window started about two weeks after I got it. Had it for about 1.5 months now. If i push on the window it stops so I'm pretty sure it the rubber gasket.

I would rather have that than the leaf spring squeak I have with my new 2015. I thought this was all cured, and I have the newer 4 leaf pack

Same issue here as well. Only on the driver side window though. Not majorly noticeable but still somewhat annoying on a brand new truck

I have a little bit of noise on my 2012, sounds like it is coming from the rear top corner. I put in-channel AVS vent visors on, and the noise is the same, so I am thinking it may be the door weatherstripping. Faint, but noticeable.

The crosswind highway noise is a lot more pronounced and comes from the grill area. I think there is a TSB for that, but probably fixed on the newest models.

Weathertech floor liners moded to hold OEM floor mats, weathertech vent visors, Toyota bed mat, LEER 100XL cap, hood gasket mod to stop whistling.
The hood gasket can whistle too, I fished some 1/4" plastic tubing through my hood gasket and fixed the issue. Both my '13 and '14 did it. Get some 1/4" tygon tubing, squirt some spray cleaner like 409 or Fantastic in the hollow gasket and push the tubing through. If it is your hood, that will fix it. For about $2 it's worth a try.

Mine is making the noise from the sideview mirror and they way the airflow funnels between the mirror and the door. Still working out what to fix it. Just a tiny disturbance in air flow will fix it.

Good thought, I've heard of this before when I had my '13. This sounds different though, its definitely coming from the door/window area. I'm not what to do about it, maybe try and stuff something small and thin into the gap between the door and body, and/or the window and door frame to see if I can get it to stop. If it does then I'll know where the problem is.

Thanks for the ideas guys, I appreciate all the brainstorming going on here.

Checked out the weatherstrip on the rear top corner from the outside. It seems to dip a little bit toward the rear, maybe from how it is attached right there. Some experimentation would be required to see if that is a contributor.

It doesn't help them trying to make these trucks so quiet on the freeway. My 2013 RC is quieter then my fiances 2003 CRV, lol...
The door seal should be sealing pretty tight against the body as that's the first water barrier also.

I'm curious what you come up with on this.

Yeah, I'm thinking the door seal is not the likely cause but I don't want to rule it out just yet. It hasn't hasn't really rained on it since I've had it so I can't even see if it leaks (if it did that would be the dead give away).

I'll definitely keep you posted as I play around with it as I get time. The girlfriend and I are driving down to the beach this weekend so I don't know how much time I'll have to play with it until after that trip. Unfortunately I'm going to have an annoying 2hr drive with it...the wind noise, not the girlfriend lol

So on my drive to work this morning I was feeling around the window for some air leaks and didn't find any. I noticed pushing on the top of the glass though the noise would go away, this seems to indicate the glass isn't sealing very well inside the door frame when its up. Also pulled on the door handle, no change. It poured (think monsoon type rain) on my drive home yesterday (ironic after my earlier comment too), no leaks in the slightest. These things all together definitely make me think the seal inside the door frame for the window is the culprit. Not sure how to fix it but I might try something tomorrow.

My 15 does this too, drivers side only and stops if I put outward pressure on the window. Really annoying.
