    Hi guys,

Well after doing the Intermittent wiper mod on my truck I decided to do some research on adding cruise control since I do some highway driving and it would be nice to have. So it's pretty easy to do the install, Took me about 15 minutes with taking all the pictures for this write up! So here it goes.

    Total investment $67!

You will need 2 parts, the cruise control switch and the cover plate and 2 screws!

Cruise control switch Part #: 84633-04020
    Link to the part:
    http://m.ebay.com/itm/Toyota-Coroll...-8463208021-/190939940963?txnId=1199684369009

    Cover plate #: 45186-04030-B0
The cover plate comes with the 2 screws you need to attach the cruise control switch to the steering wheel!
    Link to the part:
    http://m.ebay.com/itm/TOYOTA-GENUINE-OEM-CRUISE-SWITCH-COVER-/191575123482?txnId=1199699254009

    Step 1:
Remove both cover plates on each side of the steering wheel, all you need to do this is a small flat head screw driver and pry on the side closest to you. They pop right out with ease!
    20151113_082201.jpg 20151113_082211.jpg

Looks like this without the cover plates.
    20151113_082259.jpg 20151113_082313.jpg

    Step 2:
Loosen the two T30 Torx screws that hold in the airbag. Note that the screws do not come all the way out you just loosen them and they slide out about a half inch and there is little plastic holders that keep them in place. I used a small stick magnet to pull them all the way back to get the airbag out!
    20151113_082259.jpg 20151113_082313.jpg

    Step 3:
Pull the airbag off the steering wheel but do not unplug it!!! Use a towel underneath it and just let it lean forward to you.
    20151113_082645.jpg

    Step 4:
Insert the cruise control switch from the center of the steering wheel thru the cutout and align both holes for the two screws on the bottom right of the inside of the steering wheel.
    20151113_082833.jpg

    Step 5:
Screw the two provided screws in to hold the switch in place.
    20151113_083015.jpg

    Step 6:
Plug the connector for the cruise control switch into the empty spot on the top center of the wheel.
    20151113_083032.jpg
    20151113_083053.jpg

    Step 7:
Set the air bag back onto the center of the steering wheel and tighten both of the T30 bolts on the side, (refer back to step 2) to reattach the airbag.

    Step 8:
Put the left cover plate on and put your new right cover plate on over top of the cruise control switch. The cover plate will slide right over the switch.
    20151113_083510.jpg

And that's it, your done! Enjoy your new cruise control mod!

    Thanks everyone!

Weird! I know first gens you have a module on top of the engine too. Odd how you can just essentially mod the steering wheel lol.

    The better coast
With newer stuff they Prewire/preprogram everything so it's plug and play, then charge you as if they did something special.

    Nice write up!

I just bought a 2016 SR and am interested in installing a cruise control. Is this the same unit that is in the 2015? When I look up the part number, it only shows 2015 and under. When I asked the dealer, they didn't seem to know. I am also assuming the truck is pre-wired.

    Thanks, I just ordered it.

I was really disappointed when the dealer told me it would is available and they had no idea when of it it would be.

I knew if I looked long enough I would find an answer.

    Thanks for providing it.
