I have a 2016 TRDOR with 6MT and recently the reverse lights and backup cam are on all the time. In 1-6 and N the lights are dim but they are on and so is the cam. In R the lights are normal bright. If the truck is cold, like sitting overnight cold, everything is fine, but within a few miles driving it will usually start acting up.

No warranty left at this point so looking for some advice to troubleshoot this on my own. Anyone else had an issue like this? Possibly a bad switch in the trans? I tried tapping the side of the transmission next to the switch but no change.

    Thanks!

Well incase anyone ever comes across this doing a search, my issue was with parking assist system. I disconnected the black connector behind the rear bumper and the problem with the backup lights/camera goes away. Not sure if it's a bad sensor or what is up with the parking assist system just yet.

I knew it was more than a switch when the backup lights stayed lit even with the relay and all 3 backup light fuses removed.
